SOURCE: EPSON STYLUS 4000 MAINTENANCE REQUIRED

While powering up the printer, hold down the three leftmost
arrow buttons:

[left-arrow] [down-arrow] [up-arrow]

You will get a whole different set of menus.

Use the up/down arrow buttons to select the "Clear Counters" menu, then press the [right-arrow] button.

Use the up/down arrows to get to the maintenance tank entry... where you can clear its counter.

Then turn the power off, wait, then turn it on.

You can use this diagnostic startup to clear most of the counters (and their related maintenance codes).

SOURCE: Epson stylus pro 10000. I have an error 000100004

This error is for the CR motor encoder. This is normally a service call item, but you can often clean it or replace it yourself if you are mechanical. You'll have to remove the metal cover on the top front of the printer to expose it. You'll see a transparent gray plastic strip running the length of the printer and through a small sensor on the top of the print carriage assembly. If you look closely, this is actually a tiny ruler with little black lines on it. The printer actually counts these as the printhead goes back and forth to determine it's position. Carefully clean any dust off of this plastic strip, and blow out the sensor. Also thoroughly check for any damage to the plastic strip. If you don't see any damage to the strip and cleaning doesn't help, you'll probably need to replace the CR encoder itself. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: Epson Stylus Pro 4000 got the 0001001B error

When determining a solution for an error, always look to what changes you instituted just prior to the error. In my case, I switched from FW to USB. That brought on the 0001001b head driver (tg) temperature error. When I switched back to FW, the error went away and the SP4000 display reads "Ready"

SOURCE: RE: Epson Stylus Pro 4000 I

The error codes indicates that the error is concerned with the movement of carriage.
It can be just because of paper jam,the carriage locking tab may be partially pushed in, causing the carriage locking mechanism to put a drag on the carriage or lock the carriage completely.

The carriage locking tab must be pulled all the way out .Look for any paper jams also.Look any hinderence in the carriage movement.

Hi.. I have epson stylus prop 7890 and an error display "maintenance request code 4000 Refer to the manual"

The maintenance code 4000 for the Epson Stylus Pro 7890 indicates that the print head are starting to clog. You should power cycle the printer (turn off and then back on) to clear the error code. Then enter the maintenance menu and do a power cleaning. Make sure that paper is loaded. Then press Menu on the printer's control panel and press the down arrow until you reach the line "Maintenance". Press the right arrow to enter the sub-menu. Press the down arrow until you reach "Cleaning" and again press the right arrow. Press the down arrow to highlight "Power Cleaning" and press OK to start the cleaning routine. (You can do a nozzle check before and after to check how well the printer heads are working after the cleaning cycle.)

The information on Power Cleaning is on page 5 of the Quick Reference Guide, https://files.support.epson.com/pdf/pro789/pro789qr.pdf , and page 151 of the User's Guide , https://epson.com/Support/Printers/Professional-Imaging-Printers/Epson-Stylus-Pro-Series/Epson-Stylus-Pro-7890/s/SPT_SP7890K3#manuals . The Nozzle check is on the previous page.

I hope this helps. The Epson FAQ about the error code is here: https://epson.com/faq/SPT_SP7890K3~faq-298430?faq_cat=faq-8796127406156 .

Where is the printer ip address?

You should be able to print the settings from the printer. Press the menu button and go to the reports and print the settings. You can also load the drivers and they will search your network for any available epson printers. I have included a link to the downloads page for documentation and drivers.

ERROR 00010007

Sounds like the CR motor is getting over current. See here: http://www.manualslib.com/manual/553984/Epson-Stylus-Pro-Color-Large-Format-Inkjet-Printer-7000.html?page=96

You would want to use a multi meter to check current at the motor, this will tell you if the main board is sending wrong current, then replace main board. or if its an issue with motor.

Motor isn't too expensive and as long as you have patients, its not to hard to replace.

This might be fixable, maybe, in one quick step. unplug from wall, then hold power button when plugging in. Could help to reset power management. worth a shot.
