Lf = long fill. Make sure screens in hoses and water valve are clear of debris. Also be sure hot and cold water hoses aren’t reversed.

SOURCE: The dreaded LF code

HI, there is not a defect notice or recall on this particular unit but, we get a lot of complaints about this specific issue concerning the LF code on a frequent basis. this issue dose concern the inlet valve.

The replacement will work better than the factory installed piece. This is basically a blind defect.(defective factory part).

Try cleaning your inlet valve filters. Turn off your water supply and remove the hoses from the washer. The filter screens are located just inside of the valves. Just twist them out, clean, and reinstall.

Good luck.

SOURCE: Whirlpool LF Error code

LF = Long Fill
LF flashes when the water level does not change for a period of time after the valves are turned on OR water has disengaged the basket but control does not detect a water level change.
Is water supply connected and turned on?
Are hose screens plugged?
Is water entering the tub? If so check pressure hose connection to machine/motor control.

Maytag washer Bravo Xl will not fill with water. It will then go into a LF code. I know LF means low fill but I don, tknow how fix this problem

I have a Maytag Bravos washer and it had got progressively worse with LF code often having to restart several times. Checked every thing then bought a new inlet valve assembly from McComb supply. Replaced it and it works good. Note: wires were soldered on tabs.

Maytag 2000 Error LF what does this mean

The LF error code indicates a long fill condition.
What you need to do is check the filter screens where the hoses connect to the unit. Remove the hoses at the back of the unit. The screens are hust inside of the connections. Make sure they are free from any debris.

What is the LF code on my kenmore elite oasis

The LF code stands for long fill.. I would suspect a water inlet solenoid valve as the most likely suspect. It may be the hot or the cold valve. If the valve does not completely open the time to fill your machine takes too long. You can't replace just the one valve because the part contains all of the water inlet valves. That of course jacks up the cost but what can you do.

What is causing the LF code on my Kenmore Oasis?

lf is an error for long fill, you could have sediment in the water valve and you might have to change the valve but it's taking to long to fill, shut off the water to washer, remove the water lines and mark them so you know what line is cold and hot so they go back on correctly, look into the back of the water valve and see if the screens are blocked with junk from the water, also after you have the hoses off, stick them into a sink or into the washer and turn the water back on and make sure the house water valve is working ok,this is where you want to start

Washer starts then gets LF code

Hello and sorry to read about you LF issue

LF means long fill. Turn off the water and remove the hoses from the back of the machine, inspect the screens inside the washer water valve for debris. Stick the hoses into the washer tub and turn the water on, verify you have good water flow. If all of this checks ok then you either have a bad water valve or the control is sending power to the secondary diverter valve but not the primary hot/cold valve or vise versa.

I tried to help you. Please help me and rate/vote my response

Thanks and good luck

I have the error code LF and can not get it off. I have taken all the wet clothes out and I still can not get it to reset???

LF error indicates Long Fill

Remove the hose coming from the wall and clean the screen on the machine side.

If it is clean - and you have good flow from the wall - then you either have a bad water valve or the control is sending power to the secondary diverter valve but not the primary hot/cold valve or vise verse.

If cleaning screens doesn't work then most likely needs inlet valve. i have seen one of these with LF code caused by the machine control howeve.

If you have the flood proof hoses - change them for regular ones... they have some sort of built in safety mechanism where if they "think" the flow is too much they will shut themselves off.

Lf code on washer.checked hoses and valve both ok unit will run after opening the lid and closing lid and pressing start again. takes 10/15 minutes for a load to start

Hi,
LF means that it is taking too long to fill. (If the water fill time exceeds ten minutes, the water valves are turned off and LF is flashed.)

Supply hoses could be kinked or clogged(some have screens in the end).
This could be a supply water pressure/flow problem. Make sure you have good water flow though the hoses to the machine. (Take off and try running into a bucket)
The water fill valve may be failing to open all the way or it could be clogged.
I hope this helps.

"LF" is a "LONG FILL" error. This will occur if water fill time exceeds 10 minutes. I don't know why this would pop up at the end of a cycle. Normally this is associated with filling at the beginning of a cycle. There is also an "FL" error, which is an "OVERFILL" error. This is normally associated with a problem with either the control board or wiring harness. This normally occurs when there is an open circuit between pins 1 and 3 on P17 of the control board. That one is a little more involved and usually requires replacement of the control board, wiring harness, or both. If you, indeed, have an "LF" error I would check your water source coming in. Check your fill hoses for kinks or obstructions, first. Then, turn the water supply off and remove the hoses from the back of the machine. Place one end of each hose inside the wash tub and turn both water supply lines back on to make sure you have good water flow coming through the hoses. Replace the hoses if they show signs of bulging, cracks, leaking and/or restricted water flow. Turn water back off and check the fill valve inlet ports on the back of the washer for accumulations of sediments in the screens. It doesn't take much to restrict water flow. You can clean the screens with a cotton swab. If you check everything and still have problems with the error code popping up, I would replace the fill valve. It's an easier fix and less expensive than a control board. If you decide to replace the valve, it is located under the console on your washer, I believe. It's fairly simple with a couple of screws to remove on the console and a couple of connectors and hoses on the valve to remove. Make sure you unplug the machine and turn off the water supply before attempting. I hope you find this advice helpful. Let me know if this works for you.
