Probably not but will probably need to do a tune up and possible clean rebuild carb or replace it

SOURCE: mtd yard machine snowthrower not starting, doesn't

First spray a prime down the throat of the carb with the choke in the run position and attempt to start. If the motor hits and runs for a second then its a fuel related issue and you will need to remove and clean the carb. If it wont run or try to run on a prime then it may be an ignition issue. check for spark. If no spark then remove the ground wire from the module and check for spark again. If still no spark suspect the module, if spark with ground wire removed then wiring or switch is the culprit.

And make sure you dont over look little things like... does it have a fuel shut off valve and is it open? Is there a safety key and is it in -place? etc.

SOURCE: toro s 200 snowthrower electric start when air

Can you hear the motor run when you try to start it when it's cold? If so then it could be in the drive mechanism. I had one that I thought had a bad bendix in the starter. Here it has a rubber disc that turns the starter sprocket. I removed the retainer, took off the sprocket. Cleaned everything and re-assembled, and low and behold it worked. A new starter was over $100.00. Now if yours doesn't even turn when its cold, I'd look into the starter push button, or key switch for bad connection.

What is the oil gas ratio for toro power clear 418 ze

The operating manual I checked said not to mix oil and gasoline. I would suggest you check your manual. It also said not to use gasoline with alcohol.

How do I mix the gas and oil prior to filling the tank on YM 3 1/2 HP model 140 Snowthrower?

You should have a 4 cycle engine. There is no need to mix oil and gas. Make sure it is a 2 cycle before doing any mixing. It should tell you on the engine tag.

My 418 ZE Toro snowblower won't start either manually or electrically. I need to empty the gas. How do I do that?

Easiest way is to pull the fuel line from the carburetor.
If you have not started it since last year and had the gas sitting in there. You need to clean the carburetor too.

Toro Power Clear 418 snowblower wont start after sitting through summer

Check the fuel line to the tank, and see if another one is inside, maybe it fell off, or it's filter is clogged.

Mine does same. Wait a half hour, restart, runs good for 20 minutes and slows again. Just had it in for a tune up. Machine is only three years old.

My redmax eb7001 emits white smoke while running, the more power...the more smoke

Your fuel-oil mixture has too much oil in it. The standard ratio is 40:1 which means one of the little bottles of 2-stroke oil (about 2.6 fluid ounces) is added to 1 gallon of gas. Homelite recommends a 50:1 ratio but 40:1 is better, at least in my opinion.

The last time you made the mix, did you pour the oil into the gas or did you pour the oil into a little bit of gas in the gas can, shake well and then fill it with a gallon of gas? The former can give you lots of smoke as well because it is not mixed thoroughly. The latter is the best way to mix because the agitation and the flow of gas mixes the oil better.

Other possible causes to this problem are: how old is the mix you are using? Did this mix sit all winter last and you sre using it now? If so, did you add some Stabil to the mix before storing?

Depending on your answers to the above questions, you can determine why you are getting so much white smoke.

My recommendation to you is to:
(a) Empty the blower gas tank.
(b) Mix a fresh batch of oil and gas in an approved fuel container.
(c) Pull the spark plug and inspect it, if it is black/sooty replace it.
(d) Pour the new mix into the tank and start the blower.

This should get rid of the excess smoke, if it doesn't, let me know here. Good Luck!

38182 toro snowthrower will not start because i think i did not add oil to gas & ran engine for a while. what did i do? how do i fix? tried to start with holding in electric start button for several...

I USED TO WORK AT A HARDWARE STORE AND A LOT OF PEOPLE ALWAYS HAD TROUBLE WITH 2 CYCLE ANYTHINGS(GAS & OIL MIX).IF IT IS AN ELECTRIC START MAKE A FRESH MIX OF GAS AND OIL TO SPECS BUT USE A LITTLE MORE OIL THAN INSTRUCTED(THIS WILL NOT HURT THE ENGINE).ADD THE GAS AND OIL MIX TO TANK. PUT CHOKE TO FULL, PRIME IT 5 OR 6 TIMES PLUG IN THE ELECTRIC START AND PRESS THE BUTTON AND HOLD IT DOWN 'TIL YOU HEAR THE ENGINE START TO REVOLVE.THIS MAKE TAKE A FEW TIMES BUT IT WORKED FOR ME.YOU HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE BEING THAT THE ENGINE MAYBE SEIZED ANYWAY. GOOD LUCK !!
