There is a special tool that removes the back of watches. It is fairly common and I know you can purchase one reasonable from Harbor Freight or Ebay.

SOURCE: remove links from fossil metal band

The links most likely need a tool that will push the pins out so you can adjust the bracelet. This can be easily done by any jeweler or watch store. You can also order these types of tools online to do it yourself at home. Please do not attempt to remove links without the proper tools as you will not be able to remove them and you will also damage both the bracelet and the pins.

What is the battery size for fossil blue am-4090

From the Fossil website

https://www.fossil.com/en-us/******/how-to-change-a-watch-battery

However.....

Tip & How-To about Watches

Changing Watch Batteries
Lots of posters ask "what is the battery in my (name of watch)" with a view to changing it yourself. This is a bad idea for many reasons. You don't have the tools or knowledge to remove a rotary screw on back, or the gasket sealant for a waterproof watch. Some fashion watches have 4 traditional screw and need professional grade jeweler screwdrivers. Also, there are about 20 batteries commonly used in watches, in various sizes and internal technology, Lithium Ion, Silver Oxide and Manganese Alkaline. If you buy them, you generally have to buy 10!

Don't sweat the details. Just take the watch to your local jeweler. They have all the batteries at hand and the tools to remove the back. It is done whilst you wait for $8 to $15!

How do you take the back off the fossil watch fs-4023

I have a Fossil and a Nixon watch that have very similar backs. Usually when it has those grooves all the way around, the back just screws off. I know they make some special tools to twist it, but I had luck with gently using some needle nose plyers.

Hope that helps and good luck.

I have a fossil watch model fs4255 leather strap dress amber dial and I want to open back to remove old battery and replace with a new. i have a watch repair tool kit and replace all my own watch batteries...

mcdevito75 here, Even with the proper tools we still have to improvise at times, Instead of useing your case opener from your tool kit, use a steak knife or similar with a sharp edge inside that groove you"ve described, the cover will pry off.

Can't get back off to change battery, even with special tool

Looking at the Fossil site, I couldn't find "Arkitekt blue" as a description.

I noted that they have a blue one which is automatic (i.e. self winding) and therefore does not need winding - but it does need to be worn to keep the spring wound up.

The Fossil site has a complete list of their models and selecting one gives you all the details of the watch, including manuals.

I suggest you try a search on the web site.
