I have not seen this issue and the manual gives you the option of either off or dim to high upon key depress.
Manual:
0280 Backlight 0 Backlight on for approx. 8 seconds after keypress 1 Backlight always on low intensity, full bright after keypress (requires 24VAC connection).
I am sorry I can not offer any further info.

I'm having the same issue. The programmable codes go from 160 to 320, no options in between.

SOURCE: Honeywell TH8320u Vision Pro 8000 Digital keeps calling for heat

Hi,
If the thermostat is not over shooting the temperature than don't worry about it.
These thermostats are very sensitive and will turn the heat back on even before the degrees drop on the display. Often they will shut down before the display changes also. You can change the sensitivity of the thermpstat if you read the directions and change the cycles per hour to a less number. There is an installers program in there that you need to push a combiunation of buttons to get too. The instructions tell you how to do that also.

Hopefully you did not throw away the instruction manual for your t-stat.. :-)

SOURCE: honeywell thermostat VisionPro IAQ flashing

Welcome to Fixya.

This error code implies "heating or cooling equipment missing"- on easier terms, something might be disconnected or incomplete as you may not have everything hooked up. If so, you need to go to the installer menu to make sure you have the correct settings.

Here's a user's manual just in case :

Thanks for using Fixya.

Is the th8320u 1008 thermostat PROGRAMMABLE?

Yes the Honeywell TH8320U1008 touchscreen thermostat is programmable. See https://customer.honeywell.com/en-US/pages/product.aspx?cat=HonECC+Catalog&pid=TH8320u1008/U for the operator's manual. Click on the Literature tab and scroll down to the Owners Manual section. If your thermostat isn't working, make sure that it is set for heating or cooling, as needed. Then check the batteries, the wiring and the HVAC system. (The thermostat has a default set of heating/cooling periods.)

It's not uncommon for one of the wires going to the thermostat to break. Find the undamaged section of that wire and secure it under the appropriate contact spot. Make sure all of the wires are positioned at the correct contacts.

I hope this helps.

Why is my honeywell 8320r1003 short cycling for hot water heat.I have heat set at 65 degress.cycling 2min,3min,the most is 8min.

Hi Bill, after closing your thermostat, is this correct the situation?
And how far is your thermostat from your baseboard heater, if the baseboard is underneath the stat, you should move the stat elsewhere. Hope this help you find the problem.

Honeywell 8000 Thermostat relay switch clicking noise.

It's an expensive solution but doable. Look for Honeywell's VisionPro IAQ thermostat. It works much differently than a conventional thermostat and shouldn't click at all make sure it's the 3-wire version.
