More than likely, you have the same problem I am experiencing - one or more of the backlights (LEDs) have failed. When one fails, they all fail. The process of replacing the backlight(s) are all over Youtube. It is a detailed and delicate procedure to remove the TV's screen. Once you uncover the LEDs, you must replace the failed lights. The tricking part is identifying the failed LEDs and then ordering the correct ones to replace. Good luck. I am in the process of tearing into my TV right now.

SOURCE: TV No Picture

My 32D40U would turn on for 5-10 seconds (Please Wait would appear) and the screen would go black. Sound Normal. It would also sometimes do this after running 5-10 minutes. I read somewhere that the inverter board would come loose and lose proper ground. I took the set apart, removed the board, and cleaned up the grounding points. I reassembled using some copper paste on the ground points and LockTite on the screws. I used some contact cleaner on all the connectors going to the board. I noticed two cables that are covered with copper shield tape where too tight at their connectors and repositioned the tape to give them some slack. The problem hasn't occurred since the fix.

SOURCE: My Sharp TV will only hear sound. No picture or images even from the tv menu setup option. Model# LC-19SB25U. About 1.5 yrs old. Converter box ok.

In most cases, you can reset the TV by leaving it unplugged for 30mins.
If this doesn't work, I believe the circuit board that supplies power to the screen maybe bad. They call this board a backlight inverter board. It would most likely cost more to repair than replace the TV .

SOURCE: Sharp Aquous will not turn on.

I would check the System Cable that is linking the box to the TV. Then, press the small button called CLEAR in the front of the box. The button should be behind the flip cover on the front right below the PC input ports.
Let me know if this solution works.

I have a Sharp LCD COLOUR TV]MODEL LC-42XD1E I cannot get any channels.

Usually, the Menu options are limited if the current input is not set to the antenna. If you have the original remote, press the Input Source button on the remote (it's to the right of 0 and below 9). Use the up/down arrows to select your desired source. Press OK when this source is highlighted. Unfortunately the LC-42XD1E does not have an input button among the buttons on the top of the rear of the TV. (Similarly the on-screen Menu > Connections > Input Select sub-menu doesn't allow you to change to the TV input.) So if you do not have the original remote, you will need one that has a code (and button) that matches that command. Once you change the source, see if you can find the menu option for Setup or if the DTV menu button works.

The manual for the LC-42XD1E is available from Sharp: https://www.sharp.se/cps/rde/xbcr/documents/documents/om/11_lcd-tv/LC37-42XD1E_OM_GB.pdf . You can see the buttons for the TV shown on page 5 (page 7 of the PDF); the remote control buttons are shown on page 7. Selecting the correct Input is shown on page 10.

I hope this helps.

My sharp aquos 32 in tv has sound but a black picture, what is the problem

Hi

Do you have no picture on all imputs i.e, tv or any AV inputs, can you get any on screen graphics from the menu system?, if not, it is possible the inverters( controlling the voltages to the screen) or a supply to the inverters has failed, either way the TV needs to be repaired. If you do get on screen graphics from the menu it would suggest that you have a external source problem either from you aerial (if you have no picture via the tv input) or a connection/syncing issue with an external source

Blue screen, no video, but has sound

Did you hit the "input" or "video source" button by mistake on the remote or TV? That would change the input from the one the cable/video source uses. You're getting sound, so it's working......sounds as if the input was maybe changed. I'd hit the input/video source button a few times to go through all the available inputs and see if you get video back.

Change your input source. You are probably on Input Source "TV". My HDMI cable is plugged in INPUT 4 so make sure that your TV is set to the right INPUT.
