Quite a few brands of TV are actually programmed to do this. A lot depends on what kind of service you have. Cable? Satellite? Antenna? In your setup program for your TV (you probably have a paper guide) you will need to select what kind of service you have and that will depend on what kind of connection you have put your service into. TVs are close to plug-n-play but not quite. Your setup program will get you there.

Try pressing the MTS button on your remote while on the channel that does not have audio and select stereo. Most likely this will be set to SAP (secondary audio programming) and there is no SAP programming on that show. This is not something that could be avoided. It was during the channel scan, it locked in the SAP audio broadcasts for some reason.
