Is there a code for my spectrum remote to control my jvc RX-7010v. Or my Sony STR-SE501

I found a Portugese version of the user manual for the JVC RX-884VBK at ManualsLib here: https://www.manualslib.com/products/Jvc-Rx-884vbk-3775235.html . Take a look at the sections on using the remote starting around page 65. (There is a section on the CompuLink Features and then a page about using the remote with a VCR. After that, I saw remote control codes.) Most Redi-remotes are programmed with the factory standard codes for an original remote. That means that it will not control other AV devices that are newer than the RX-884VBK. Usually universal remotes are limited to controlling devices that were manufactured/programmed 6 months or more before the remote itself was programmed.

The Sony STR-K660P is listed as stereo receiver, but here is list of codes for the Sony devices:

Protect typically means that the fuse blew because something in your receiver went bad. It's now protecting your speakers from that badness. You need to get the receiver fixed or replaced.

Good day Virgil. Please be a bit more specific. Are you using a Decoder to receive the TV signal? When you say " hook speaker wires to the TV" - do you mean via the Sony SE501 receiver??Just tell me what components you have and I can help you.

if You would not FIX IT. i recomend you to exchange by a NEW Ones, the SYSCON inside from the remote control had been faulty see the diagram.

Where does the digital audio REALLY originate - the TV or something higher up the food chain like a Cable Box?

Try getting it from the source to make sure it works. Then, if you REALLY think the TV needs digital 5.1 and an intervening run of cable before it passes audio to the JVC, connect it as the book says.

The TV can probably survive just fine with a simple RCA stereo audio patch from the cable box just in case you want to watch CNN without the JVC turned on.

Is there a code for the jvc rx7010v that I can use to operate it off my spectrum universal remote. Same question for a Sony str-se501. Thanks
