SOURCE: freezing in refrigerator but temp

The defrost is not working,.The evaporator coil in the inner section of freezer is got blocked by ice .

Try manual defrost reset procedure: ----

First unplug the unit from main power outlet. Then empty whole unit completely. Then keep both the doors open. Wait for 24 hours. All the ice collected on the coils and in the freezer section will get melted. Clean the water from the sections. Then Connect the power cord of the unit to main power outlet after 24 hours/.Then set the temperature to normal in both fridge and freezer section. It will take near to 4 hours to get run in its proper cooling cycle. Then check, if the problem returns again. If the same problem occurs then it's defrost problem. The defrost board and the defrost thermostat/heater is not functioning properly and it has to be checked and replaced. --------

Check the damper if there is too much water collected in the damper then press the damper and remove the water collected in it. The procedure of this unit is as follows: --- The compressor starts then it cools the freezer section. When the freezer reaches its cooling level the defrost cycle starts functioning. In this cycle the fan in the freezer section starts running and the cool air in the freezer section is passed to the refrigerator section and the refrigerator section gets cold. The air from freezer to refrigerator passes from the section, in that section the damper is located.

If the unit is under warranty then get this parts replaced by the GE service center. If the warranty is over then you can get the required parts from online sites like:---

www.repairclinic.com or from searspartsdirect online site.---------This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

Fridge Freezes Everything

there is a motor with a flapper that opens and closes to keep your temp correct in the refrigerator side most likely the motor is bad and stuck open so your air from the freezer has constant flow to the refr side. the flapper is in the back of the refr behind a cover where the air flows in.

Calibrate temp

You need to balance the temp settings. The freezer controls everything and it you have the refrigerator set wrong then the freezer tries to compensate. This means that things get too cold

Ice maker freezing up at water chute.

I have a GE model TFX30PPDACC. It had frost in the freezer on back panel. Changed defrost timer and defrosted the coils. Lasted 10 days before enough frost built back up and refrigerator temp climbed....

thats what it will do when nothing frozen is in the freezer, you should hear the defrost heater popping if theres frost or ice melting off the evaporator coil in the rear area of the freezer its working ok

Refrigigerator ice maker is not working.

Pour about 2/3 cup of water into icemaker . If it freezes and dumps the cubes , replace the water valve ( the piece the wall waterline connects to on the fridge .). Also check the fill tube inside that fills the icemaker , to see if it is frozen solid . If so , then the water valve seeps and needs replaced . If the water freezes and does not dump , replace the icemaker . Check the coils below refrig , to make sure they are clean of dust , lint , pet hair , etc . An icemaker has to be 5 degrees to operate , and if the coils are not clean , that could bring the temp up to 6 or even higher .

Ice turning into a solid block in freezer. Samsung Refigerator

Hey, Your defrost thermostat or defrost heater may need to be replaced. The frost should be removed every 8 hours automatically. The ice is not freezing all the way into cubes because the temp. is too warm in the freezer to make ice.
The wire may just be a ground wire BUT it may have electrical current going in it.
This is dangerous and need to be repaired. Hope this helps.

Samsung refrigerator freezer not freezing

-2 although below freezing temperature, is not really enough to keep food really frozen. I am presuming we are talking in Celcuis. You need to set the freezer to a lower setpoint.
