SOURCE: Microsoft Wireless Notebook Optical Mouse 3000 not working

Most devices last a long time. Have you tried re-installing the software for the keyboard & Mouse> Also go to microsoft download center and get the latest drivers for you setup. Make sure when you do, choose the right Operating System driver for your Keyboard & Mouse. Hope this helps. Bud

I had the same problem.
Press the button on the underside of the USB, the green light will flash. Now press the reset button on the underside of the mouse. Your mouse should now work.

SOURCE: Red light doesn't come on ~ Microsoft optical notebook mouse 3000

Look for a small button that protrudes where the receiver is placed at the bottom of mouse. There are two possibilities for turning on the red light, one is that said button is stuck,if that is the case push it down a couple of times and see if the red light goes on, the other is that the button is broken at it's base. Also check that battery contacts are clean and hold it firmly. Good luck!!! Chawah.

SOURCE: Mouse stopped working (Microsoft optical notebook 3000 mouse)

YOur mouse needs to be paired with the transceiver. THere is normally a button on the part which goes inot the laptop. Press it once then flip the mouse and press its button once. It will then work hopefully :)

Testimonial: "Wow. Thanks. That did the trick. Mouse now working fine. Again, many many thanks. "

USB light for microsoft 3000 wireless keyboard/mouse not turning on. Keyboard and mouse not responding at all. Tried everything I could think of.

Go to Microsoft/help/support.com and you should find a solution. Sounds like you don't have the right hardware or a bad software pack. Also make sure the computer recognizes it. Try another keyboard if you have access to one. You'll probably have to go to another computer to get instructions and print then out and maybe you can do it with a mouse if it works and another keyboard doesn't work. If you can get another keyboard to work and download the drivers for the 3000 make sure the 3000 is plugged into the computer when you download the driver for the 3000.. They do have downloads for the 3000 I just went and looked and the last keyboard I had was a 3000 and I downloaded files from Microsoft. Hope this cures your Microsoft headache; dhgill1949

My computer is installed with XP Professional and my new Microsoft Mobile Mouse 3000 will not work. Why?

Hi,
Make sure the batteries are new or charged.

To activate the mouse press the connect button on the receiver and look underneath the mouse for the connect button and press that.
All you have to do then is right click on the mouse to activate it.

Microsoft wireless mouse 3000 - all lights are on; flash upon reset, but still doesn't work. Running Vista 64-bit.

Try to take off battery and next push and hold down the small button that protrudes where the receiver is placed in the mouse, put back battery and simultaneusly release the button,it might make the mouse operate correctly. Good luck!!!! Chawah.
