How to realign WF-3540 print location on the page

To realign the print location on your Epson WorkForce WF-3540 printer, you will need to perform a print head alignment. Here are the steps to follow:
  1. Load plain paper in the printer: Make sure the printer has plain paper loaded in the tray.
  2. Access the printer's maintenance menu: Press and hold the "Stop" button on the printer control panel for three seconds to access the maintenance menu.
  3. Select the "Print Head Alignment" option: Use the arrow buttons to select the "Print Head Alignment" option from the maintenance menu and press the "OK" button.
  4. Follow the prompts: The printer will print out a test pattern and prompt you to confirm the alignment. Follow the prompts on the printer control panel to complete the print head alignment process.
  5. Test the printer: Once the print head alignment is complete, print a test page to check the print location on the page. If the alignment is still not correct, you may need to repeat the process or try a different method of realigning the print head.
I hope this information is helpful. If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please don't hesitate to ask.

Says problem with alignment. Remove tape from cartridge or check troubleshooting. There is no tape on cartridge so what should I do?

It may mean the print head alignment rather than the cartridge
Check properties on printer in control panel and see if there is a head alignment option.
If there is it will print out an alignment page that you can compare to see if alignment is out on the print head.
Try also Google search engine

I keep getting this message when I try to align the print head. An error occurred during automatic print head alignment. Press the printer's RESUME button to clear the error. Refer to the user's guide to...

The print head is the carriage that holds the ink cartridges and has tiny nozzles on the bottom that spray the ink on your paper. The nozzles have to be aimed (aligned) either automatically, or in WinXP with the following manual process:

1 Left click on the start button
2 Open "Printers and faxes" on the Start menu.
3 Find your printer on the printer list and right click on it once.
4 Select "Properties" from the pop-up menu.
5 Click on the "Maintenance" tab at the top of the new window.

A selection page for all sorts of upkeep items is then shown. Manual alignment of the print head is one of the choices.
