It needs a key cd . If you bought it second hand and did not at least get name of it since it can be set with any disc your out of luck. for avn 5435 on the left:press menu and cont ant the same time, while holding them down press menu on the right 5 times
a menu will appear and ask you for a code. you have to call 800-233-2216 and pay $25 for the code. you will have to explain where you bought your eclipse and or know the name of the original owner. if it doesnt match they will not give it to you

This main unit is equipped with ESN (ECLIPSE Security Network). A music CD (Key CD) which has been registered in the main unit, is necessary for ESN. Without it, none of the functions will operate, even when the battery is reconnected after it has been disconnected for maintenance, or the ignition switch is turned to ACC or ON after it has been turned to OFF. ESN can be set or cancelled using any of the following methods: Key CD security You can register a music CD in the main unit as the "Key CD" to be used to set or cancel the security settings.

hey ur radio is locked u have to send it in, they charge $40 to unlock it, there in NY, and a $10 shipping fee. After looking at the manual, there doesn't appear to be a reset button. If the unit is not turning on, try hitting the power button. A last resort option is to disconnect power from the unit by removing the unit from the dash and disconnecting the wiring harness that goes into the back of the unit.

Eclipse radios are set up so the first cd inserted in the cd is used to unlock the radio if power is ever disconnected or the radio is stolen. You are going to have to call eclipse and see if they will unlock the radio for you. If the radio has been reported stolen, chances are they will not help you. You should be able to contact them at their website. If you can get the radio out of the dash, there is a phone number for eclipse on the chassis also.
