I had that problem with one of my tablet pcs and it was one of the updates that messed it up once I uninstalled the update it was fine and everything worked. you can go to updates and go to uninstall updates adn then go in and change time that up dates will update. I set my updates to update when the computer is off so when it is turned back on it will not up date for it was not running while the auto updates was on. I sleep at 5 am to and i set the update to 4 am and 5 am so it is never on then so it never updates uniless yo want it to update that. in windows 10 there is oway to shut it total off.

Is your Smartab's battery removable? if so, you will find the barcode of the tablet along with the SN under the battery, Please note that this is common in most tabs yet it may not be applicable in the case of your tablet, if you can provide more info about the tablet, like it's Model or even a picture of it, it may greatly help
