Most likely a control board problem if no lights at all are on.

SOURCE: amana washer won't fill with water

1st I checked the power, compressor in garage had tripped the breaker to the washer circuit. This model has no bells or whistles to tell you if the power is on to the unit. Reset the breaker and unit works.

Amana Washing Machine Fault Code Help?

It sounds like an inlet water valve issue due to the humming. The solenoid isn't opening the valve fully and that makes them hum.

I bought an older 842 washing machine. It has been sitting for awhile so I cleaned out the filter. At first I did not get the plug back in and water ran out and the inlet fault light came on.

Sounds like either the small filter at the inlet solenoid valve or the solenoid valve itself. Either way you are going to have to get inside the machine to get to the inlet valve. If no water is coming through the soap draw then it can really only be at the valve OR the inlet to the soapdraw is blocked (again - need to take off the top to look) Make sure power is disconnected before you do. The flashing red light after 30 seconds or so is just letting you know that the drum has not reached certain water level in the appropriate amount of time.
Good luck

Where is the cold water valve on amana washer

the cold water valve is at the end of the hose at the back of the machine
if the cold water pipes run outside to the garage , it is a fair bet that the water in the pipes has frozen
easy to check --take the cold water hose of the tap and see if it runs
if it runs replace the solenoid for the cold water valve

Why doesnt my washer put out cold water

either the hose screen inside the fill hose is plugged with lime/rust/etc. or the water solenoid is defective or not getting power from the controls,on some fill valves there is a thermistor that senses water temps as it fills and this part could also be defective, you can test this valve with a cheater cord to see if it opens,or unplug the machine and use an ohmmeter to test the solenoids coil for continuity,if good plug it in and check for voltage(normally 120 volts A.C.)on the solenoids terminals during the fill cycle

Washing machine seems to have a water block

Sounds like a solenoid valve fault. Does it start turning and act like it's washing even though there's no water inside? If so check pressure chamber and switch

Water entering the machine and not stopping

Hi, check water solenoid valve again, or give it a little tap, sometimes they get stuck, when you remove plug, if you had a timer problem, water would stop, your water solenoid valve have to be faulty, if you purchase it, you should return it. if it were a used one it's defected. the only other thing is if you have high water pressure in your house/building, probably that could force it open, but most unlikely, you should check, but first check water solenoid valve, it could be a mechanical fault, inside of water solenoid valve, you can remove water solenoid valve, put it apart and make visual check of plunger and all other parts inside of valve, if same problem continues, replace water solenoid valve. let me know, if your problem continues. Good luck.

No water on cold wash/cold rinse setting

Tip1. Make sure your cold water turnoff is turned on all the way off before you check water screen. It could be clogged with sediment located inside threaded cold water hose connection. If clogged scrape clean or replace screen.Reconnect cold water hose and turn cold water supply all the way on. Tip2. Electric water solenoid could be defective or simply have a loose wire on the plug of the solenoid or loose plug / wire on mode switch.

Amana washer has no hot water - cold works fine

There is a solenoid control valve on all washing machines, located where the water hoses enter the machine. If you have a rubber mallet, you can whack the machine gently with the mallet. If the problem is resolved, it was just a stuck valve. If not, then you likely will need to replace the whole solenoid valve control. Typically there are controls for each water supply.
