SOURCE: Front speakers no sound!

Most likely you have pressed the speaker AB switch, try pressing it again and see if it works.

SOURCE: Speakers don work under Ubuntu 9.04 in presario cq61

ICEBOX - I had exactly the same problem! But I have just fixed it after several hours of pulling my hair out. I had tried everything I could think of, as well as lots of solutions other people had suggested, including installing the latest version if Alsa from source etc. Nothing worked, until I found these four lines on another forum. Simply paste them at the end of /etc/modules.d/alsa-base.conf and save it.

options snd slots=snd-hda-intel
options snd-hda-intel model=hp-m4
alias snd-card-0 snd-hda-intel
options snd-hda-intel enable_msi=1

Restart the computer and you should get sound out of the speakers as well as the headphone socket.

SOURCE: centre speaker not working on yamaha surround sound unit.

Check your "Setup" in the main menu of the receiver. Press "Menu" or "GUI" whichever you have on the remote and go to "Manual Setup" then toggle to "Audio" then "Speakers" then toggle to "Center Channel" and make sure it's on "Large" or "Small" instead of "None". If you still don't have audio, post a comment with the model # of your receiver, I'll pull the book and help you further. Hope this helps.

Cant get sound

Hello,

This can often be as simple as the speakers being unplugged, plugged into the wrong jacks, or powered off, so don't overlook the obvious and check to be sure. Also check the volume controls in Windows or your application to see that they are turned up and not muted. When you are sure the volume is turned up, the speakers have power and are plugged in, and the speaker configuration is correctly identified in Windows (some audio hardware uses a proprietary mixer control for this job), you need to verify whether the problem is with the speakers or the sound card. Connect different known-good speakers and see whether they work. If they don't, the issue is in the sound card-possibly the configuration of the card is incorrect or the card itself is defective. The first thing to try is clearing the ESCD in the BIOS Setup. This essentially forces the plug-and-play routines to reconfigure the system, which can resolve any conflicts. If this doesn't help, try removing and reinstalling the sound card drivers. Finally, if that doesn't help, physically remove and replace the card from the system. You might try replacing it first in the same slot and then in a different slot because timing issues can sometimes exist from one slot to the next. If that doesn't work, you must try replacing the card. If the sound "card" really isn't a card but is integrated into the motherboard, first try the ESCD reset and driver re installation. Then, if that doesn't work, you have to try disabling the integrated sound and perhaps installing a replacement card.

I hope one of these solutions help.

WHAT WOULD BE WRONG IF A PAIR OF YAMAHA NS-10M HAD NO SOUND COMING OUT, WOULD THEY COST MUCH TO FIX

Hi.
I don't think both speakers are damaged unless, some kind of electric failure affected them, they just must be connect in the wrong way.

2001 yukon denali cd player will not play or eject and reads error

You can try one of two things. You can pull the fuse to the radio and leave it out for about 15 minutes to allow the radio to reset. Hopefully this is the case. If you don't know where your fuses are, you can also do what's called a dead battery reset. You disconnect the negative side of your vehicles battery and leave off for at least 15 minutes. This will reset all the computers too. If this doesn't work, just remember that the radio is 10 years old and if wasn't taken care of properly will malfunction at some point. Good Luck

Yamaha Rx-V367 Subwoofer not working, I have new Polk Audio PS10 hooked up with Y-Adayer and Subwoofer Cable to Subwoofer Jack on backn of receiver. No sound in Radio mode which other 4 speakers work, in...

Have you looked at the manual?

The NEW thing doesn't work.

Does the subwoofer work for setup? That would certify the hardware and speaker definitions are ok.

The PC has the responsibility for defining and sending out something between headphone and full-blown 7.1 though the HDMI. Check your PC sound controls and the "Information on HDMI" section of the manual.

For the radio mode, probably the only analog stereo source you have, read up on the STRAIGHT decoding mode and Sound Field programs.

Our Yamaha YDP223 has an issue with the damper pedal. When it is depressed, the notes (F#, G) in the upper ranges make a high pitched, annoying sound as the note dies away. We were dealing with this sound...

All sound is generated digitally and the pedal doesn't modify the sound, it just sustains the generator. This is a strange problem and best suggestion iis to find another unit and compare... it may be a characteristic of the design. There isn't anything that you can do to change this. It could be there is a bad ground inside the unit or the digital data is corrupt in the processor. The fact that it is on a particular set of notes is strange...I just checked on my Yamaha piano that is essentially the same electronics and I notice that on one octave above the middle when one strikes F# and G they "ring out". Now this MIGHT be due to the characteristics of the speakers. Those particular notes seem to clash more. I don't have other speakers on mine and unfortunately you did not mention what brand model you have attached. Consumer grade speakers like fancy stereo speakers do NOT do well on these instruments. One has touse pro grade speakers AND use proper interconnecting cables. The speakers, powered type, must be powered from the SAME receptacle as the piano to avoid ground loops.

I have a Yamaha ypp 100 keyboard that was sitting idle for awhile. When I turned it on and started to play there was no sound/an extremely faint sound from the speakers.

Try headphones... possibly the switch contacts on the headphone jack which disconnect the speaker when headpones are plugged in. If you can hear via the headphones, check the switch contacts. Also look for a loose cable.

Contacts can oxidize when idle for a long time.

No sounds come out

Computer sound. Check if speakers are working at another computer.. If so check that speakers mini jack are connected in right socket.(a dot with 3 brackets at 2 sides.) , should be a green socket fitted in a green female socket.. Still no sound install drivers and software that comes with motherboard, usually work 99%. There?s specific files needed for functionality depending on sound software that windows doesn?t have. If still no sound go to control panel, system,, hardware, device manager, sound video game controllers and uninstall all sound drivers. Reboot and let windows pickup up onboard sound and install drivers auto. if still no sound reinstall windows, make sure you?re not selecting new or format your hard drive, Ask someone that has done it before. This solves usually all my problems. If still no sound buy a separate souncard, they are cheap and use the disk that?s supplied.
