Either lay the machine on its back , you can see the motor underneath, the brushes are on the back end of the motor , or with the machine upright, remove the back plate , the motor is bolted onto the machine at the bottom

SOURCE: WHIRLPOOL WASHING MACHINE AWO/D 5716 - CANNOT LOCATE PUMP

Remove the bottom casing covering the front of the machine just above the floor. Unscrew the circular cap SLOWLY- beware of vast amounts of water escaping though!
I had to use a low height roasting pan to catch water, and just unscrew the cap enough so as to control the flow of water, and enable to empty water away until its all gone. Incidentally, an old hairgrip was found to be the cause of my problem.
Confusingly, "clean pump" meant clean filter!

SOURCE: am trying to replace the belt on a hotpoint aquarius wf240 washing machine. I have removed the 2 bolts which appear to hold the motor in place ( 1 bolt on each side). However the motor still will not

Hi. The motor is non adjustable on this washer. Tilt washer forward, get someone to hold it steady, and put belt round motor pulley first, then slip belt on drum pulley, and slowly turn drum by hand, feeding the belt on as you turn drum, be careful not to trap fingers, as it is very tight, this is normal, as the belt is a stretch type, this is the reason the motor is non adjustable. Please rate my advice. Thanks.

SOURCE: Hotpoint Aquarius 1000 WM62 motor problem?

the motor is shorting, it could be faulty brushes if you are lucky. Look at the wires in the plastic connector to make sure they are not sooty from burning. I had to rewire one on my machine.

SOURCE: hotpoint ultima F-05 errorr appears on machine

Error F05 indicates pressure switch jammed on full.
Remove lower rear cover of washer.
Locate and remove large black hose fastened to drum.
Remove and clean filter inside hose.
Remove hose onto pump, and check for blockage or obstruction here as well.
This should solve the problem.

Hoover Aquarius Washer Drier WD 440 Washing machine worked fine yesterday but today is tripping out and blowing everything in the house. Also washing inside the machine was very hot and water not drained...

sounds like the bushes have gone in the motor... about £20 from your local appliance retailer/parts department! or the filter may be blocked... clear the filter but it will get messy so have towels at the ready a hosepipe would come in handy or move it outside if you feeling strong!!

to check the bushes locate the motor not sure of position on these but near to the bottom you will see wires going to plastic parts each side normaly held in by a screew, take a wire off each plug in and see if it runs...

hope this helps
