This means that the switch inside the camera that senses the SD card protection switch is bad or broken. Take the card out of the slot and look inside with a small light and check the side where the corresponding location for the switch is. See if there is a part missing or stuck. In most cases this is something you cannot repair yourself. You have to send the camera in

SOURCE: SD card Protected

It sounds like the tiny locking switch on the SD card has accidently been set to "lock". Remove the card from the camera and slide the switch to the opposite position. That should do it.

SOURCE: i have a fujifilm finepix z30 says protected card.

The SD card has on a side a little switch. Turn in to the other position and it should work fine.

SOURCE: My memory card is completely empty, all photos

You need to reset the file-numbering.
Turn mode-dial to Set and turn on the camera. Select Frame No. from the setup menu. Switch Frame No. to Renew. Press OK. Format the card (also from the Setup Menu) After formatting, select Frame No. againg and switch to Cont. File numbers will now start from 100.0001 again

SOURCE: My A540 camera gives me a Memory card error when I

Take a close look at the cards that you've used. Are they all 4GB or higher "SDHC" cards? If so, that's your problem. Your camera was made well before the SDHC format came out. Although the card looks exactly the same as a standard SD card, the format it uses is very different. Unfortunately, there is no way that your camera will work with SDHC format. It can only use standard SD (cards that are 2GB or less). Fortunately, these are very inexpensive these days (check Amazon).

Camera won't take pictures it show protected card

Look at your memory card. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

My fuji finepix a200 camera is showing protected card. i cant get it to go off. How do I fix this

I'm going to show you a diagram that has to do with the card lock on the side of your memory card this slide is there to protect a card with images on it so it's not put back in the camera and formatted
Card locktri3mast_34.jpg
Once you have unlocked the memory card you need to format the card to make it ready to accept new pictures from your camera. I hope you download your images first before formatting.

What mean by protected card? i can't take any photo with the show of this line word~

The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.
