I'm not receiving whatsapp notifications. I have to actually go into the app to check if I got a msg....it's irritating Please help

I would contact Verizon, might be some setting on your account or on the messaging app itself.

I just fixed it on my Iphone4.... i went to settings for the iphone (not the app) under Notifications near the bottom there is Whatsapp select that, then turn on notifications. that seemed to fix it for me. now i get messages while in sleep mode.

Manually pressing the sleep button tells the phone to stop all programs running. You'll need to let the phone fall asleep on its own.

Unless you are using an iPhone that supports multi-tasking (the iPhone 4) this is an unavoidable issue, unless you jailbreak and use an app like 'Backgrounder"
