Turn your phone off, then on again. If that doesn't fix it:
- Check the mute/sound button on the side. It's on the left on an iPhone, and usually all androids as well. If it is on mute, there will be a red or orange stripe visible under the button. Just for grins, try turning it on and off.
- Depending on whether or not you've accidently hit the volume controls (those buttons on either side of your phone) chances are you've set it to mute simply by the phone coming into contact with the controls while in your pocket or purse. It happens.
- Go into your settings and select "Sounds" (on an iPhone). Make sure the ringer and alerts button is on and your sound volume is up.
- Go to "Do Not Disturb" (under settings still) and see if your sound is turned off.
- As a last option, select "reset" under "General."
- Also check your settings to see if you need to update your phone. If so, plug it into a power source and select "Update" from your settings menu. You'll know if it needs an update because there will be a number on the settings menu icon.
Good luck! If you have an Android the process is similar. It's always a good idea to Google your phone model and something like "Restore sound settings" to get more specific info!
