Hello, I sorry about the slow speed, but the screen resolution is not the principal problem. First is a good idea uninstall all applications or software like you do not use or very necessary, install software like CCleaner to clean all inside computer. SOURCE: i have a netgear wgr614 v9 router but have

you to port forward. call Sony tech support to ask what port to be forwarded using Netgear router. Then follow this steps below...

Port Forwarding

A. Determining the IP Address and MAC Address of a Computer:

Note: Please use the computer for which the Ports are to be opened:

For Windows 2000/XP users:

1. Please click on Start and select Run.
2. Type in cmd and click on OK.
3. In the Command Prompt, please type ipconfig/all then press Enter or Return key.
4. Please make sure that the Ethernet adapter has an IP Address that is the same range as the router (e.g. 192.168.1.2 for the computer and 192.168.1.1 for the router).
5. Please note down the IP address and Physical address.

B. Reserving an IP Address:

1. Please open any web browser like Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox.
2. Connect to the router by typing http://routerlogin.com/basicsetting.htm or http://192.168.1.1 in the address field and click Enter or Return key.
3. A window will prompt for a username and password. The default username is "admin" and the default password is "password".

Note: Username and password are case sensitive. If it does not take password as the password, you might have changed it when you ran the NETGEAR Setup CD so please try other passwords.

4. When the setup page opens, click on LAN IP Setup under Advanced tab.
5. Click on Add under Address Reservation.
6. Under Address Reservation window, please select the radio button of the computer you wish to add from the Address Reservation Table.
7. If the computer you want is not on the list, please click on the Refresh button to update the table.
8. If the computer is still not on the Address Reservation Table, please type in the IP Address, MAC Address (Physical Address), and Device Name of the computer you wish to add.
9. Click the Add button when done.

C. Opening Pre-Defined Ports for Internet Services:

1. Click on the option with the name Port Forwarding/Port Triggering under the Advanced menu.
2. Please select the service type Port Forwarding. The router pre-defined services are listed there.
3. From the Service Name pull down list, select the service that needs to be hosted.
4. Enter the IP address of the computer in the Server IP Address box.
5. Click the Add or Apply button.
6. Repeat all steps to open more ports.

Note: If the name of the Internet service does not appear in the drop down list, you may manually open the ports for that Internet service. Please follow the steps below:

D. Opening Ports for Games, Applications or Custom Ports:

1. Click on Add Custom Service button.
2. Type the service name in the Service Name box and the lower range numbers in the Starting Port box.
3. If the application uses only a single port; type in the same port number in the Ending Port box.
4. If the application uses a range of ports; type in the higher range numbers in the Ending Port box.
5. Type the IP address of the computer in the Server IP Address box. Click Apply button.
6. It will then refresh to the Port Forwarding page, and will show the list of all ports opened in tabulation.
7. Repeat all steps to add more ports for more services.

E. To Edit or Delete a Service Entry:

1. Click on the Radio Button that needs to be Edited /Deleted, under the Port Forwarding page.
2. Modify the information from the Service Name, Starting Port, Ending Port, and the Server IP Address, and then click the Apply button.

Why does it freeze trying to,get programs

Typically stream freezing is caused by a slow Internet, or download speed. Unfortunately most Internet service providers don't give you their full speeds as advertised, and some actually "throttle-down" you speed during heavy usage periods, leaving the user wondering why everything got so slow. 5Meg download speeds are sufficient to handle a single High-Def stream, yet uninterrupted lower resolutions can be achieved at just over 1Meg. Then there's the compression technology used to send the stream. Netflix for instance has excellent compression, and will also automatically detect a slower connection, reducing the quality, or resolution, delivered.
You can try testing your upload, and download speeds at a number of test sites... Try Googling "Speed test" here's an example: Speedtest net by Ookla The Global Broadband Speed Test
Unfortunately these tests don't provide a complete picture of what's happening when applied to streaming results, as providers usually allow a few minutes of top speed initially then begin their slow-down.
I'm able to stream two separate movies, uninterrupted, from Netflix, at just under 3Meg, on DSL. Some cable providers claim high speeds, but curiously are unable to deliver uninterrupted streams unless you upgrade your service at an additional monthly cost?

Print speed

No, the speed is fixed and permanent for a given resolution. You may be able to select a lower resolution and print faster, but the images won't be as good.

Cant watch vieodes without buffering

You-tube I assume.

Your internet line speed is slow, reduce the viewing quality.

Set it lower than it is set to currently, by clicking the spanner on the bottom right of the video.

Take care!

I just brought a Tp-link TD-w896ON but the internet speed 1.67 mbps ??

The line speed is controlled by your internet service provider, not by your router. If you have something like AT&T as your internet service provider, then they sell 3 or 4 different line speeds or packages. The cheapest will get you the slowest line speed. So if you have a 300mbps router but you purchased AT&T's cheapest line speed it will never allow you to do downloads, uploads or streams at 300mbps. You gotta Pay to Play. :)

SLOW CONNECTION WHEN SHARED BETWEEN TWO OR MORE SYSTEM BUT WHEN USED DIRECTLY WITH ONE SYSTEM,VERY FAST.

HI.
Sorry to be a bearer of bad news but...
This is normal.
What you are doing is splitting your connection between more computers.
So for example. You have a 10meg internet connection and you have 10 computers on your router (Network Connection) you are in effect reducing your connection speed by 10 so that means each computer recieves a 1meg connection.

I hope this makes things a little clearer for you?

Brother MFC-5860CN printing issues after switch Win2k to WinXP

Are the settings in the print driver set to the highest quality setting? If so, this will slow the print speed down tremendously. Try changing the default settings in the print driver to a lower quality (or resolution) setting.

Slowness

To work around this issue, reduce the bandwidth requirements. To reduce the bandwidth requirements, set the camera to send reduced resolution video. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Close the video call.
  2. Click Start, click All Programs, click Microsoft LifeCam, and then click Microsoft LifeCam.
  3. Click Open resolution settings.
  4. In the Video Resolution section, select a lower resolution.
  5. Close the Resolution settings window, and then try the video call again.
If you have to make more improvements, go to step 4, and then select a lower setting.

If lowering the resolution doesn’t resolve the problem, try these additional steps:
  • Close other programs that may be using the Internet, such as your browser.
  • Ask your Internet service provider (ISP) how to optimize the performance of the Internet connection.
  • Ask your IM contacts to also try the steps in the previous two bullets.
