SOURCE: Pioneer VSX-505S Subwoofer Installation

That type of subwoofer is not used with this receiver. This receiver actually outputs no power for a subwoofer, therefore only needs a plain ol' rca signal wire. This is due to the fact that you need a powered sub... one that you plug in to the wall and it has its own built in amp. you simply run an rca from yyour 505s to that sub.

SOURCE: Owner's Manual - Pioneer VSX 455 Receiver

It should be compatible with all of them. I have one that works just fine with my Sony HD/TV, HD DVD PLAYER, etc. The only difference is that its is stereo w/ a middle speaker hook up, if you so desire.

I find it just as enjoyable and easy to use as my Denon 6.1 with fewer speakers. That is because as men, our hearing range is poorer especially as we grow older.

Email me with any other concerns you may have.

Thanks,

SOURCE: Pioneer VSX-D608 Optical connection

The manual states that the default association of each digital input in as follows:

  • Optical 1: CD
  • Optical 2: MD
  • Optical 3: TV
  • Coax: DVD
Use the "Signal select" button to set the receiver to use a digital input, and the Dolby/DTS button (above "Signal select") to enable decoding.

As samz11 stated above, a remote is required to alter the digital input mapping.

I want the speaking voice to be loader than the background voice

I think you mean you want to alter the balance between the center speaker and the others.

Assuming you've performed the initial speaker level adjustments according to the manual (available at retrevo.com), it is also possible, via the remote, to alter any channel level while listening to a program. See the Tip on page 49.

Have a Pioneer VSX-1018 receiver. When I connect

You speakers are out of phase. Check to see if the polarity is correct on the receiver and the speaker. Positive (red) with positive, negative with negative (black). Also check the impedance of the speaker, it should be located on the back of the speaker measured in ohms. Make sure that your receiver matches the impedance of your speaker. You can find this in the settings of the receiver.

Need an owners manual

All you have to do is go to Pioneer's USA site and get the PDF file for the manual. You may need to Google search to find that link (just search on model no. and look for Pioneer site link) as it is a retired model. I just purchased one from BB but it was complete.

PIONEER VSX-1018AH NO SOUND OUTPUT

If this is a new hookup be sure this amp doesn't have pre-out/main-in jacks that may need to be bypassed. Otherwise, maybe look to see if any tape deck buttons are pushed. Good luck.

Pioneer VSX-1018AH-K 7

Check if Zone 2 is 'On' if it is set it to 'Off' using the front panel button. Hitting the 'Recieiver' and 'Setup' buttons is the correct way to set the system up.
