I have to ask you say cleaned out ? not in the washing machine i hope . did you use any fluids that were runny ?

suggest warm air hair dryer notvto close don't leave alone only few minutes could just be damp, there again if the case and fluids used may have damaged the electronics board. you can but try.n

Norstar M7310 getting Not In Service message

This message means that the system does not see a telephone connected to that extension. Check the extension that you are calling to see if it is operational. Check the extension number by using Feature *0 and pressing the intercom button.

Loud extension ringer used with Norstar Meridian phones will not ring. Any ideas why?

Most external loud ringers are analog and your phone is digital. You would also need a digital to analog converter and use an additional digital extension to make it work.

Nortel Norstar T7316 programming extention to button. Won't let me program extension 230.

Just think about it, why would you want to auto dial yourself? You don't need an autodial key for yourself so the system don't allow you to program it.

Meridian Norstar M7310 -- Phone's buttons seem disabled.

Sounds like a stuck button!

Look for the button that is depressed... or the button that has that person that the set is always calling and remove that button with a key/ small knife/ screwdriver or something.

When you take this button off the set, I bet that your set will start working again.

Clean that button, maybe there is something spilled on it.

Good Luck.

How can i change my extension nuber (norstar M7310)

Sorry can you clairify this question...

-> You need a new extension number for your set?
-> You need a new extension on your set so you can see when they are on their phone?

If it is the first, there are many things that you need first, too much to explain at the moment. But you need to have the password and a template for your phone to make changes.

If it is the second, press:
- Feature * 0 and any button to find out what is on the button, look for an empty button or one that you want to overwrite,
- then RLS,
- press FEATURE * 2
- press the button where you want to add this new extension
- dial the extension of the new person

Voila you are done!

Good luck!

Dear Sue Johnson

Right, well immediately you have given me a symptom of a fault with the LCD (Liquid Crystal Diode display), and my guess is that if the display is not liquid induced or that it is not broken, then the only thing left to rule rule out is power failure to that part of the circuitry. Now i would have tothoroughly investigate why this happened before i could pinpoint exactly what the fault is, but a good guess would be either bad refurbishment, or liquid induction/ ingression previously has damaged components.

Now about the extension problem, I wouldstart off by stating that the refurbed portion of the system may have malfunctioned again or even elsewhere on the device, which may or may not have been directly caused by refurbishing involvement.

Im guessing that either your switchboard controller is faulty, or possibly a fault somewhere in the switching equipment that is in direct relation to data transfer over the RJ45 connectors (standard phone/ network cable type connection)

Your best bet is to remove all of the phones on the extension/ switchboard and then install them one-by-one and see what errors are thrown up, the ones that cause you a problem and then tackle the switchboard with the direct fault.

If all of this is to do with the phone (s) and not the switchboard, then i would say, remove the phones, replace them with a similar type and then notify someone like myself who may be able to advice you on your next best course of action. But if yor phone network is that valuable, then i strongly suggest selling the broken phones for spares / repairs and using the money to at least cover part of the cost of purchasing new ones of the same make and model as the ones on the rest of your local system.

The same will obviously apply to the switchboard, unless there are user servicable components inside, or you are particularly handy with electronics, comms technology and a soldering iron.

In the mean time, I wish you all of the best luck, and I hope to hear more about this situation soon, I also look forward to helping you the best i can with regards to this matter.

Yours sincerely

oz
