Long download time with my majic jigsaw puzzle just got my computer back from the shop they say it will take a longer downlong time is there any way I can speed it up

They may be aware that Microsoft will try to install patches not yet on your computer because it was in the shop and not online. You need the critical patches and there is really not a way to speed that up. Your antivirus will be updating itself as well.

After your computer "settles down", i. e. installs its updates, you might recover some speed by running Adanced System Care. But I would create what is called a restore point before using ASC. If you immediately encounter problems, use the restore point to recover and return the computer to a pre-ASC status.

What Are the Differences in AP-side Switch Interface Configuration and Intermediate Switch Configuration in Direct and Tunnel Forwarding Modes?

Differences in configuration on switch interfaces connected to APs are as follows:

In tunnel forwarding mode, interfaces connected to APs transparently transmit only packets of the management VLAN. These interfaces must be added to the management VLAN in untagged mode. In direct forwarding mode, interfaces connected to APs must be trunk or hybrid interfaces. These interfaces must be added to the management VLAN in untagged mode and added to service VLANs in tagged mode. If a trunk interface is connected to an AP, the PVID of the interface must be set to the management VLAN ID.

Differences in configuration on intermediate switches are as follows:

In tunnel forwarding mode, intermediate switches transparently transmit only packets of the management VLAN. In direct forwarding mode, intermediate switches transparently transmit packets of both the management VLAN and service VLANs.

How do I set my linksys WRT300N router to infrastructure mode vs adhoc mode? I have a magnavox blu ray player with wireless capability, it says I have to set my wireless router to infrastructure mode vs ad...

http://compnetworking.about.com/cs/wirelessfaqs/f/adhocwireless.htm

http://compnetworking.about.com/cs/wireless/f/infrawireless.htm

Question: What is infrastructure mode in wireless networking? Answer: Infrastructure mode wireless networking bridges (joins) a wireless network to a wired Ethernet network. Infrastructure mode wireless also supports central connection points for WLAN clients. A wireless access point (AP) is required for infrastructure mode wireless networking. To join the WLAN, the AP and all wireless clients must be configured to use the same SSID. The AP is then cabled to the wired network to allow wireless clients access to, for example, Internet connections or printers. Additional APs can be added to the WLAN to increase the reach of the infrastructure and support any number of wireless clients. Compared to the alternative, ad-hoc wireless networks, infrastructure mode networks offer the advantage of scalability, centralized security management and improved reach. The disadvantage of infrastructure wireless networks is simply the additional cost to purchase AP hardware. Note that home wireless routers all feature a built-in AP to support infrastructure mode.
