This means that the brew unit has problems with positioning. Try to take out the tray, clean out all the grounds from the sieve and surroundings of the brew unit. It`s easier to do this when everythings dried up. After this, run a cleaning program and see if this helps. It may be that the o-rings needs to be changed and greased up. If the machine is older than 2003, the brew unit has to be changed.
