I recently disassembled my bunn and cleaned it out. I think I've got one of my switch wires crossed. Can anyone help. It throws a breaker as soon as I turn on the burner.

SOURCE: Bunn coffee maker trips the breaker

It is possible that you have a short in your limit thermostat, but most likely this is caused by small holes in your main heating element. these units start to split length ways down the element, causing a short to ground through the water. These elements are readily available at your local Bunn repair shop.

SOURCE: 4-Way Switch wiring

Hi,
Here is a website that has great wiring diagrams for you and also a video about wiring these switches.
Your problem is that you have a "hot" going to a "common at one of the switches when you flip a swtich. This trips the breaker.
It can take alot of time and be very frustrating to find the culprit wire if you are inexperienced with three and four way circuits...it even takes a pro quite a while to figure these out someitmes. And Ohm meter is a must and you need to pull all the switches out with the power off and start tracing out each wire till you find the bad one.
You need to make sure that your switches are wired EXACTLY as the diagram shows.

I hope that this will help you to solve your problem!

SOURCE: when I turn grill on it throws the breaker

Try a different outlet, maybe the breaker is bad with the one you are using. The hot rod could be bad as this seems to be a problem with Treager grills. They should be under warrenty so call and have one sent to you. To check the hot rod, unplug your grill and the reach up from the bottom and unplug the purple wire. Plug the grill back in and see if it will start. If it does, it is the hot rod.

I have a bunn 11 the problem im having is sometimes it works fine and other times the machine will turn on and off. I unplug and replug it works then continues to flicker on and off. Any sugestions.

There is a ready light (green but sometimes red) that will go on and off as the brewer heats up. It will periodically turn off when re-heating but should light when ready. This is normal.
* Bunn have red rocker switches that are sometimes lit when in use. Some do flicker but still work. Call for service if not.
* Rocker (RED) switches should have a definite click sound from the switch. these are usually the warmer plate or on/off switches. Some may flicker but you can check the warmer plate if it's working. Ask the vendor to change it the next time they come by as it still works but annoying.
* The black rockers (unlit) should snap to all EXCEPT the brew switch which tends to be mushy with a spring back. The only way to know if it works is the plate gets warm.
* Check the outlet if any other machine shows intermittent power. Some places overload the outlet and trip the breaker or GFRI so frequently most people unknowing think the power blacks out all night but really someone just reset the breaker. Have maintenance move the brewer on another outlet (and breaker) or have the breaker checked as it may be worn.
* Call your vendor anyway as there may be an electrical short or loose wire inside the brewer. Many times I've found the warmer plate wires burnt or fell off the terminals.

Hi. I have a paragon 4001-00 timer hooked up to my pool filter. It's worked great for the last 25 years but recently it has become finicky. It will always turn off, but sometimes it won't turn...

If new X2772 tripper hasn't solve problem, it might be time for new timer.

Keeps throwing the breaker switch

It is possible there is a short or other electrical problem with your brewer. If you will get the model and date code located on the bottom of the unit and call customer service, we will be happy to resolve this with you.

My problem with my AKT3650 is the unit sparked and threw a breaker at only one control. Even turned off the unit will throw a breaker and spark. I was thinking it was just one of the switch components -...

So doing anything will throw the breaker? Must have a shorted wire either going to ground on the cooktop of where the cord wires in at the cook top. Dont know exactly but be looking for wiring with insulation gone and rubbing the frame or each other

Keeps tripping circuit breakers bunn NHb

Hello

Coffee makers have a heating unit in them which draw a lot of current. If it is on the same circuit as refrigerator, toaster and other it will trip the breaker. Also, some breakers are more sensitive than others. Have an electrician run a separate circuit for the coffee maker outlet. Try running it in the dining room outlet, which I hope is separate from the kitchen outlets. Is the house old? Older homes have a lot of mixed up wiring.

Throws Breakers

Check the power cord for damage, and repair anything you find.

If confident enough, open the unit up and inspect all the internal wiring - check for chafed wires and for terminals that have come undone or that are touching anything they aren't obviously meant to.

Check the unit hasn't got wet inside - mop dry then leave to dry out properly in warm air for a couple of days if it has.

If that doesn't throw up anything obvious, then you're probably looking at insulation breakdown of some component (my money would usually be on the element). For a unit like this, I doubt it's economic to start buting spare parts, so you're probably better off buying a new coffee maker.

Good luck

A.

Breaker keeps throwing

jhweis80 Why do you think the problem is the dryer? The circuit breaker itself could be bad and this is what I will check first. Probably you need a professional electrician to do it for you. Gendos post back...
