Can I put some type of adhesive on the contacts the 12 volt battery that I'm putting in my child's ride on toy?

Could be fuel starvation caused by dirt in the filter/carburettor etc.

Power Wheels uses a very specific connector for their 12V batteries. It is possible to change over to another system but it is recommended for the safety of the child to only use a Power Wheels genuine 12V battery. The part number for the 12V battery is 00801-0638. You can also buy the battery at Toys R Us, and usually off of amazon as well. I do highly recommend using only genuine Power Wheels parts only on the vehicle.

usually the charger has an indictaor light on it that is red/amber when its charging and then green when the battery is fully charged. does yours have this light?

the peg perego gators have two switches in the shifter that need replaced.
I have replaced them before on my grandkid's gator.

Power Wheels only makes the battery connector available as part of the whole wiring harness. There are several parts that Power Wheels will not sell directly to consumers, these usually include the wiring harness, motor/gearboxes and the switches.

If you do need the motors, battery & wiring harness it is most likely not worth repairing. That being said the Xtreme Machine is no longer made by Power Wheels, and the closest thing would be the Dune Racer they now produce. So if you are really wanting the machine repaired you will have to take it to a Authroized Power Wheels service center and have them repair it for you.

The battery you can purchase usually off of Amazon, Toys R Us or from one of the many service centers like us. Power Wheels put two different style batteries into those vehicles depending on the year made. So it may either have 2 6V Red batteries or it might have 1 12V Gray battery.
