Lost sound and beep on my Nakamichi GPS model -NA5501

Hello, to set the clock on your nakamichi iPa53DK model click settings the go to general there it will display the date and time. There you can set your time zone, date and time. Then enable the option for set automatically.

The Remote has Learning Mode - change the operation of the remote to Learning Mode and program the key buttons appropriately by pressing buttons on the receiver with remote pointed at the receiver

Not sure on the exact model number these sites may have the manual but not sure on model number so cannot be certain

I'm confused. The message header shows a problem with a Yamaha RX-V995 receiver.

As for connecting a Nakamichi (or any surround system) to a TV - the only connection would be the Monitor output (video connection) to an appropriate video input of your TV.

If it is a Nakamichi, it is a little older and probly predates the invention of HDMI cables. My guess is you will either use the S video output or Composite video output to the TV's input with similar connections.

This allows you to route whatever video sources you have connected to the Nakamichi to the TV.

First, do you hear beeps when you press a selection on the screen? If yes, then your speaker is OK and the audio circuits are OK in the unit. Make sure that you have a voice selected in the voice menu. Some units have an audio mixer screen and provide different volume settings for navigation (voice) and system (beeps). maybe the volume for the voice (navigation) is set to off. If you don't hear any beeps when you touch the screen AND you don't hear a voice, make sure that the sound isn't set to be muted. If the sound isn't muted, you may have a defective speaker. 1. First, make sure that the sound is not checked to be muted.
2. Make sure that you have a text-to-speech (TTS) voice selected in the language menu.
3. When you press a function on the screen, do you hear a beep? If so, this indicates that the sound is not muted and that the audio circuits are working. If you don't hear any beeps when pressing a function on the screen AND there are no voice directions, then I would suspect a defective speaker. More information can be found here:

The system control is essentially a link between units.
This is required for the remote to access all the units as the re receiver is housed in the RE-5 unit and relays the signals between the units via 3.5 inch mono jack, generally a short black cable to interlink the units.The RE-5 have 1 and add on units have 2.

NEW CABLE FROM NAKAMICHI IS £150 . INSTEAD JUST CUT THE METAL SHIELD OFF ANY CD MINI DIN CONTROL CABLE WITH A JUNIOR HACKSAW AND IT WILL FIT PERFECTLY (IT ONLY GOES IN ONE WAY BECAUSE OF THE WAY THE PINS ARE LAID OUT!). I USED AN OLD MAC DIN PLUG BECAUSE IT WAS 3M LONG! WORKS PERFECTLY!

Could you give more info than this? Did you check batteries? did it get dropped? did water get in it? or did it just stop working one day with no reason? If you could get more information we could possibly help.
