KEY FOB NOT DETECTED DODGE CHALLENGER

Hi Fred,
There could be a number of reasons for this.

As I do not have much detail and do not know your knowledge of cars, I will explain the basic principle at work here and hopefully that might give you a clue as to what the problem might be:

In all modern cars the key fob (plastic part of the key) has a coded electronic chip moulded inside. There is a sensor just under the steering column cover, usually right next to the ignition switch. This sensor activates whenever a key is turned in the ignition switch and the sensor reads code stored in the chip in the key fob.

When all is good, the engine will start as expected as the keys code will have been programmed into the cars engine management control system and the key is recognised as a matching/authorised key. No match, the engine won't start - a very good safety feature.

Some reasons why this may give the fault you are experiencing:
  • You bought a replacement key from the Dodge Dealer, but the new key has either not been programmed into the cars engine management system or the programming was not successful
  • You bought a non-chipped key from a non-dealer and had it cut from the original, but were not aware of the need for a chipped key and the need to have the new key programmed into the management system. A non-chipped key will not work, ever unless the management system is compromised
  • There may be a fault with the sensor
  • Very unusual, but the chip in the key may have been damaged
Do you have an original spare key to try?

Hope this sheds some light on your problem :)

My daughter received a notice on Facebook from Double Down Casino to click to receive 1,000,000 free chips. I also play regularly but did not receive this notice. Can I still get these free chips?

Your daughter received a scam notice. She will not get free chips, nor will you.

What will happen, if you click the link for them, you'll be forced to complete a survey giving personal information which will be stolen by a hacker.

Please use caution.

I have a packard bell computer - Imedia 1328, and have purchased a memory mod. 512MB DDR PC3200. How do I install it. IN easy step by step instructions for a silver surfer, please.

assuming you bought the right memory chip...

power down the computer. Unplug the power cord from the case. You can leave the other cables attached as long as you have room to work. Open the case. There should be a couple of Phillips screws on the back edge to release the side panel. Once you can see inside the pc, you will see all sorts of cards and cables. Blow out any dust bunnies. Find the empty slot next to a card that looks just like the one you bought. Don't touch the metal contacts on the memory chip. Notice the notch on the edge of the chip and the matching notch in the empty slot on the computer. Gently, but firmly push the memory chip into the slot. It should give a little click.

Plug in the power cord, reboot computer.

I'm Lost

On laptops the slot where an sd chip goes is usually filled with a piece of plastic to prevent dust/debris from entering. You'll have to push this plastic piece in to get it to pop out.

To tell you where your slot is located you need to give us the specific make and model of your computer.

Ps2

You have to disable the region lock by installing a so called "mod chip". This is a microprocessor (PIC Micro) that is wired inside the PS" or othe game consoles. There should be stores in your place that offer this service. Here is are sample of mode chips: http://www.mod-chip.com/ You can also google for sites that give instructions on how to install the chip and where to buy it.
