I have a 1999 Volkswagon Passat. The air conditioner works great at night or when the outside air temp is below 80°; it will put out 55° air. But during the day it will only put out 10° below the outside air temp. The freon level is correct, the evap and cond fan runs great. The evap area is clean. What do I check now?

Try to straighten the fins on the condenser. R134a systems do not operate efficiently during idle(because of the condenser) not being able to exchange the air.

Check to see if you have a cabin air filter and if it is dirty have it replaced at a local auto shop.. if that isnt the problem and the freon level is correct then you will have to live with it.. a/c are concidered effiectient if they cool 20* below ambiant tempature.. personally i would say have the freon level/quality checked again

1999 Volkswagon Passalt Front Passenger door will not open from the inside, it does open from the outside

The door handle rod probably fell of and the clips may be damaged. You might be able to just take off the door panel and pop it back in, but it may not stay and you'd have to replace the entire door lock actuator assembly.

Air conditioner failing

You need to refill the A/C. It works on pressure in the system if its below operating pressure it will not work at all. Buy a refill kit and follow instruction.
