My hotpoint stove model number rgb524 has a LITE on the knob but it has no plug in on the stove. How does it lite?

The manual says it does have a three prong cord.

Older is BETTER !! Replace the igniter,even if it is glowing
REPLACE it !
note:there is a 2% chance the safety valve is the problem.And I'll bet you ,you are in the 98% side on this one.EVEN THOUGH YOU SEE IT GLOW -----IF ITS JUST GLOWING---------GLOWING--------GLOWING---------it's gone ! !

SOURCE: Broiler doesn't lite, no gas going to pilot

Most cases Broiler ignitor is out, after you turn on the Broiler, check the voltage on Broiler ignitor 2 wires, if you have approx. 110v, then change the ignitor, but you don't have 110v, then check Broiler safety valve and oven thermostat, but 90% of the time is the Broiler ignitor. Have fun.

Sears Kenmore gas stove, the front left and the left and right rear burners turn on when the knob is turned to the lite position. The right front burner doesn't turn on when put lite position. N

If there is no clicking sound like you hear when you turn on the other burners than I'm going to say that either the electrode is bad or the spark switch, which is what you turn to turn on the burner to begin with. Both parts are cheap so it may be a good maintenance thing to change all of the burners. Make sure you have your model and go to www.repairclinic.com and order both parts, and if you don't need one send it back for a full refund even if you installed it. good luck

Gas burner does not light clicking on other burner when knob is turned on

they should all click when you turn any one of them on.you need to send the model number off of the machine,under the oven door there should be a draw,open the draw and look at the frame on the left or right side and you should see a tag with the numbers,can you lite it with a match,if not all you might have to is get a paper clip and clean out the holes that the gas comes through,also when you lite it does the ignitor or electrode spark?if not you can switch the heads to see if it's a problem with the electrode,if not you could have a bad spark module or a bad switch that's behind the knob but i need the model number to see what parts are on your stove.

Burners on top of stove does not ignite. You smell gas and you have to lite with match. The ports are clean . thanks

what's the model number?if you smell gas and it doesn't lite you could have a bad spark module,when you turn the knob to lite does it click,check to see if any spark is coming to ignite the gas

That's you ignitor. They get weak. If it has a glow that is dim orange that is a sign. Another sign of a weak glowbar is you can kick the oven and make her lite off.

If you are saying the clicking continues you must move the burner knob past the LITE position.
If it continues clicking with the knob past the LITE position the ignitor switch behind the knob is bad.

Where is the Hotpoint RGB524 Gas Kitchen Range pilot light located and how do I get it lit? I turn knobs and hear a spark sound but no flame. Thanks in advance..

The spark should light the pilot automatically. If you open the broiler door and look up at the left rear side of the burner, you should see the pilot assembly and the spark igniter. Try lighting the pilot by hand with a match, right where the spark is. If it lights, the oven should come on. If it doesn't light, there may be a blockage in the pilot assembly, like a spider web or something. If the pilot seems too small, it may set for LP and you are on Natural gas. The adjustment for that is behind the oven knob, a screw. Good luck.

sounds like you have a standing pilot system.if so and you have turned up the adjustment screw and no better .you will have to replace the pilot tube assemblie

Is it a (relatively) new stove - i.e. piezoelectric spark igniters?

If so, is there a "lite" or "pilot" (or some such) position on the knob? On most stoves you have to turn the knob to that position, it starts clicking, you may smell a little gas, and then it lights.

Is that happening?

When you turn it to the lite position, can you see a little spark in burner. Often these igniters stop working and need to be replaced.

Replacing thermostat

thats very easy first unplug the stove lift the top it should stay up with the arms extended,pull the arms out of the slot and remove oven top , gently pull knobs off , remove all hidden screws behind knobs, remove the front panel held in place by 2-3 screws on top and under panel, remove 2 screws holding existing thermostat unplug 2 wire thermost follow capillary to sensing bulb which is inside the oven unless it broke off it should be there, im asuming thats why you are replacing it ,remove sensing bulb from 2 brackets holding it in place make sure its perfectly straight because it has to pass through a small hole, installaton is the opposite of removal good luck.
