KitchenAid KSCS25FTSS02 intermittently leaking water onto floor

I have a KitchenAid KSCS25FTSS02 and every week or so we've been finding a fairly large water puddle on the floor. Other than that there appears to be no other leaking. I have checked the water connections twice and there is no leak there. I'm wondering if this could be a problem with the defrost drain. Please advise. Thank you!

I have a very similar problem with model KFIS27CXMS5. Water all over the floor... Could you tell me where the defrost drain is in this model? And is it a “owner-fix”, or should I contact a repairman?

Is there a sheet of ice on floor of freezer? Sounds like a stopped up defrost drain.

Testimonial: "Yes, there is a sheet if ice on the floor of the freezer. Can you tell me how to get to the defrost drain to check?"

Drain is just under access panel to evaporator coils on back inside freezer wall.

SOURCE: Kitchenaid Superba 42 Refrigerator Leak under Freezer when Water Used from Door

Either the water filter isn't seated properly or there is a crack in the tubing or the water line isn't seated properly in the coupling behind the grill at the freezer door. Also, inspect for breakage in the line in this area as well (coupling area).

SOURCE: Jenn-Air freezer leak

Apparently it is the drain behind the freezer panel on the inside and it is blocked. It needs to be unblocked and cleaned. You remove the food and the rear panel on the inside of the freezer. With a hair dryer (carefully) remove all ice build up and then unblock the drain line going to the pan under the refrigerator. The drain line can be cleaned with bi-carb and hot water (not boiling).

SOURCE: GE TFX20JR side by side/water leaks out freezer during defrost

Yes, you are correct, that is a drain. Use a turkey baster with hot (not boiling) water to flush out the drain tube until water will flow out into the drain pan under the refrig. (where the air blown over it will cause it to evaporate)

Look for obstruction at the drain tray for the freezer. Common to have plastic wrap sucked into that area.Or gunk in the drain line. Blow through line to insure the gunk is not an issue.

SOURCE: Whirlpool Cabrio Washer- When draining, water leaks out of hole

probably rubber hose from tub to pump broke, access from back or bottom, (cabrios are open bottom) pump in rear. there is a recent bulletin about tub ring not channeling water from dispenser completely into tub

While on vacation our house had been checked at one week later &again 2 weeks later, @ 3 weeks check, floor in front of dish washer & entire kitchen had standing water , as DW door was opened...

Take a long shot. Say your mains leak a little, quite possible, and you machine's inlet solenoid valve leaks a bit, say about a litre a day - you probably would not notice it during the normal course of events, in a week it would leak about 7 litres into the machine, in the second week it would have about 14 litres in it, about at the level of the door and not seen by the house visitor. The next week it would leak another 7 litres - all over the floor. Now it would be noticed?

I have a GE Top Poad WasherWJRE5550H1WW that intermittantly leaks

There seems to be an overflow drain from the top of the tub to the bottom (inside the cabinet). I don't know why this was designed to dump water onto your floor.

Water leaking

Hi

There are several things to check for: The condensing defrost tray under the fridge can crack or develop a hole and leak onto the floor. A door gasket not closing properly may cause sweating and leak onto the floor. Some fridge's have a humidity switch inside the fridge that should be turned on to prevent sweating on the center bar between the fridge and freezer section. If your fridge has developed a frost free failure problem, often the frost will travel down the suction line at the back of the fridge and drip water on the floor. The heat exchanger tubing can separate and also sweat and drip on the floor. A kit to repair a separated heat exchanger line, comes with instructions as well. Ice maker and chilled water fill lines can crack and leak as well, this is fairly common with the plastic lines as they can dry out and crack.

Please revert for any clarification.

Freezer leaking on Ge Profile

The drain is frozen over and water cannot escape when it defrosts. You will need to remove the back panel inside the freezer and run some hot water down the drain until it has thawed. Hope this helps

Drain pan leaking?

there is a drip pan located underneath you ref but most likely your prob is a plugged drain line coming from the freezer. when you ref goes into automatic def the water doesnt run out into the drip pan but instead onto your floor..

you can clean the drain line by removing the rear cover in the freezer compartment and using hot water to thaw the drain below the evap coil.
