Hi! Amana refrigerator XRSS687BB - sometimes the Door Open LED on the control panel is blinking fast (~0.5 sec period) - what does it mean? The door open switch is checked Ok.

It is a warning that the fridge thinks the defrost heater is bad

Frigidaire side by side Model Ffhs2622msu Flashing H on the... H means that the refrigerator thinks the heater is bad. You'll need to pull everything out of the freezer and remove the back panel inside the freezer. You'll see the silver evaporator coils with the evaporator fan above it.

What does flashing h mean on Frigidaire refrigerator?

Sounds like a possible loose connection somewhere that is shaking when the door is opened. Check the main plug/power connection to the refrigerator for corrosion or just looseness. The inside light is controlled by a door switch so you may have a connection problem there also.

I have went through something like this before, the serviceman told me it was in fact a compressor issue. Do you hear some kind of buzzing noise? Is it extremely hot? Then it's a compressor issue. They are pretty expensive to have replaced, would recommend to purchase a different brand. I had the same problems as Frigidaire. I had the compressor replaced twice during a time period of 2 years. It went out a third time and it was out of warranty and they told me that the compressor didn't receive any kind of warranty gain for itself and the company shortened the warranty of the compressor because of the issues they had with them. Since they were aftermarket ones, didn't apply to the original warranty. If you continue to have issues with this brand, please research the brand integrity online before you make another bad investment. I paid more for the new brand but it lasted longer than 9 months. The next fridge that I bought was older and used but lasted 5 years, so I stuck to that brand and it paid dividends stop far.

A blinking yellow for this model indicates the TV is too hot, unplug & allow 30-45 min to cool before re-plugging .
OR: lamp not installed or lamp door not closed. there is a lamp door switch that may not be closing, simulating door not closed

LED Indications

The front panel Status LED provides an indication of

the set's operation and the possible cause of a malfunction.

If an abnormal condition is indicated, perform the

Self Diagnostics procedure.

Self Diagnostics

To activate, press the front panel <ACTIVITY> &<CH

??> buttons at the same time and hold for 5 seconds.

The STATUS LED will then flash denoting a two digit

code.

• The number of flashes indicates the value of the

MSD (tens digit) of the Error Code.

• The flashing then pauses for approximately 1/2

second.

• The LED then flashes indicating the value of the

(ones digit) of the Error Code.

• The Error Code is repeated a total of 5 times.

Example: If the Error Code is "23", the LED

will flash two times, pause, and then flash three

times.

Error Codes, descriiptions and the most likely cause of

the error are listed in Table 2-3.

Note: The TV must be in "Shut Down." The LED

will probably be indicating an abnormal

condition. If the TV is switched Off, AC is

removed, or a System Reset is performed, the

code automatically resets to "12" No Error.

See the Error Code Log to retrieve a history of

errors.

Note: Use the front panel buttons, not the remote

control.

Note: If there is no response, the front panel may be

locked by a V-Chip setting. To unlock, press

and hold <ACTIVITY> on the front panel for

8 seconds.

beeping when door is open is one of its features the flashing light means someone has tried to set something and not completed the selection just try pushing one of the buttonstill it stops

it could be a defective damper vent door,( frozen shut from condensation) between the freezer and refrigerator,the motor that opens and closes this door,or a thermistor in the refrigerator that signals the control board in the rear of the unit to operate the damper vent door motor to open and close this door

It sounds like the fan, which would not run with the door open. Be sure it is clear of all obstructions then fake out the door switch and see if this resolves the problem. If it doesn't it will confirm that it is the fan or not. If it is just replace it.

• Stuck remote control button. Check all remotes. check LED on receiver.
• Staples around Multi-Function Control Panel bell wire could be cutting into that wire. Remove wires from opener and test. Replace staples causing intermittent short.
• Multi-Function Control Panel could have sticking door control push bar. Remove wires from control panel and test. Replace control panel if defective.

first of all, check to make sure your fan is working, also check the inside compartment for the damper should be open when your rise or lower the temperature settings on your dial. when you rise your temperature dial to 5 you should feel air flow coming out of the damper, if not check to make sure that the evaporator fan is working first, if it is than check the damper door should be open sometime this damper door gets stuck on something or they break off.

I tried the following sequence, as recommended on a similar blog and it worked!

Quickly press :
Hi Temp Scrub
Energy Saver Dri or Heat Dri
Hi Temp Scrub
Energy Saver Dri or Heat Dry
Close door
All lights should come on
then clear and revert to cycle.
