You can try checking out the installation manual for an idea of how it was installed. It should be sitting on a mounting bracket and not attached to the sheetrock itself. However, you might be pulling on the mounting bracket when you tip it forward. You should have an extra set of hands to help you pull it straight forward and out, instead of tipping it.
The installation manual can be found at https://d1vofmza27mmhi.cloudfront.net/product-pdf/amana-amv1150vaw-installation-instructions.pdf.
Good luck!
SOURCE: Can't remove the vent grill
Two problems found. The electrician that installed the micro. installed it incorrectly. The fan was supposed to be turned so that the exhaust would go through the pre-installed duct in the wall. To remove the grill, there is two screws on top of the micro. which have to be removed. The builder put in a deeper cabinet that covers the screws because it looks better. To fix it I have to drop the micro, take off the grill, clean it and all the grease off the micro., replace the charcoal filter, turn the fan so it will exhaust through the duct and reinstall the micro.
SOURCE: I am trying to remove an old Amana MICROWAVE over
I'm not positive on old Amanas, but some very old units slid out of the main case. The main case was installed and the cooking unit slid inside the case. There were two screws in front that released a connecting device at the rear. Check at the front top corners for a screw that may disconnect this. I have also seen extra screws added through the cabinet to the side, that shouldn't have been put there, that are screwed through the side of the main case. Good luck I am available this evening for further assistance, just let me know. Have a Merry Christmas.
