SOURCE: Hi. I have a Rancilio Silvia Espresso machine

First of all, your machine is not safe to use so do not use it. A thermostat maybe have shorted out, a wire may have grounded, who knows. Pull the top off and determine where and what has burned out. It should be quite visible.

I have a rancilio epoca 1group. After I turn the steam wand off it keeps steaming. Would it need a new valve?

Hi Daren,
You could replace the whole steam valve wand but you don't need to.
The rubber grommet inside the steam valve is worn out and the tap wont close properly - that is why the steam is coming out.
You will find these parts with a commercial rancilio supplier.

I have a rancillio epoca dual head espresso machine, there are two gages on the front of the machine, steam is coming out of the top gage

You will need to get that manometer changed. Get a hold of a rancilio dealer and tell them you need a steam manometer.

I've had my Rancilio Silvia Espresso machine for about a year and a half. I use it every day. Today, it won't heat up. It turns on but will not heat up. Is there a reset button? Help, please.

Hi
There is a reset button inside on the front side of the boiler (you have to take the top of the machine off. There are 4 screws and remove the water tank). It is located between 2 black wires and is a red button. Push it in and test. There is also another problem that you might have. If the brew thermostat is bad it won’t heat. To test for this, push the steam switch and wait 15 seconds. Then open the steam knob and push the middle button and see if the water is warm. If it is then you need a new brew thermostat. That is the thermostat that has the red dot on the top. It sets on top of the boiler next to the steam thermostat. If you take the top off, make sure that the machine is unplugged.
If none of these things work check the heating element with an ohms meter. The reading in the terminals should be from 12 to 16 ohms. If no reading the elements is bad and you have to replace the boiler.

Rancilio Silvia: The steam works only for about 10 seconds

Remove the top panel and check the 3 thermostat on the machine one of them is not functioning properly, find the wire to the steam switch and trace it to the thermostat.

Water will not come through the steam wand

I had the same problem. I took the steam wand off, and checked for steam out of the unit. It was OK, so I stuck a thin wire up through the steam wand and dislodged what look like pieces of a green washer or O-ring.
In short...the wand was plugged.

New Rancilio Silva - steamed milk not perfect

please relay on your experience realizing that you now have new steam pipe(with different holes in the end of it and different pressure)
you will need to get use to them and get maximum quality of that steam pipe.
my advice:
  1. every time hold your hand in the bottom of milk container, so that you will prevent overheating which often gives the result you mentioned.
  2. every time you use cold milk.
