When I burn a music cd it will not play in my sterio or cd player, it only plays on the laptop. Can you tell me what to do to fix this.

Some players are like that! You need to experiment with different makes and speed settings when recording!

You could try to clean the laser, with a special cleaning disk. Don't try to clean a laser by opening the player, you will damage the system.
If it is a CD burned in a PC, it also can be the laser is now a bit less, not capable reading CD-R or CD-RW, and still can read normal CD's

Could it be the CDs you can't play, are burned in a PC?
Not all CD players can or will play CD's burned in a PC. Sometimes the CD player is to old, so not compatible with these CDs. Sometimes the player just does not play these CD's, because of rights protection.
A CD burned in a PC is less reflective than an normal music CD. Normal CD's do have a metal coating and are highly reflective. Burned CD's have a dye, and where the laser burned the dye, it only changed colour. Making it less reflective.
All modern CD playes should be capable of playing CD r's. But the player that is really compatible, is labelled CDr and CDrw compatible.

will not play on what cd player, the one in the laptop or another one that you have around the house? Most times when you make a cd on your computer then it will have a hard time playing on another device such as your stereo in the house or the cd player in the car.

So if it plays on your computer, it burned successfully. Plus you can always open windows explorer to look and see what is on the cd.

Try Nero Buring Rom. Select audio cd and burn the music.

It sounds like your Rover dosn't have MP3 capabilities. You will have to use standard audio CD format (not data/MP3 format). You will only be able to burn about 15-20 songs but they will play in any cd player.

dual xdvd700 is a very picky device in order for you to play videos on a cd-r disc...you need need a burning software that have video burning capacity...don't just burn video as data copy/backup b/c dvd player won't recognize it. hope this help...
So it's base on how you burn your disc...NO data backup/copy ...use Video Burning instead

if the burned CDs are of mp3 music your player won't play them.  I doesn't read mp3!  sorry

This will be due the Format, That you,ve buned The CD In.
A standard CD Player, recognises the WAV Format.
If you,ve downloaded music, it will be in WMA Or MP3 Format.
You,ll need a program such as Nero, to convert the files To WAV Format, to get a standard CD Player to recognise Them.

Have you tried a different jack? It could be faulty.
