Metabo WEP15-150 Quick, Reduced RPM's

I just replaced the electronic unit on the Metabo WEP15-150 Quick, thinking the temperature switch was located inside, but the grinder is still startup fine, then ~ 10 sec later the temperature light comes on and the rpms reduce. The electronic unit is brand new and the grinder is not hot... looks to me that the power goes thru the electronic unit, then to the switch, is there a temp switch somewhere?

If the armature has a ball bearing problem or the RPM tacho disc on the end of the armature has maybe had a problem.

SOURCE: 2001 rodeo reduced power

I just went through this with my 2001 rodeo and the dealer needed to replace several parts over several weeks because they could not get the problem to go away.

-APP/throttle pos. sensor needs calibration/replacement
-air idle control needs replacing
-throttle body needs replacement
After months of going back and forth to the deal with the same problem, the throttle body was replaced last week and the problem has dissapeared....for now...

SOURCE: 03 saturn L300, reduced power engine light came on

You are not the only one. Ive met a good many of Saturn owners (most were 2001 L300 drivers) but they were plagued with the problem you have and practically identical codes. The following remedies have been known to work:

1. Replacement Battery Cable
2.Replacement ECU Wiring Harness
3. Replacement of ECU

SOURCE: reduced power for real!!!!

I had the same thing happen to me yesterday. Sitting at a light, went to accellerate and would barely move. The same lights came on for me too. I had it towed to the Saturn dealership and they tell me it's the computer control for the transmission. It's going to cost me in excess of $950.00 to replace. I did a little research and apparently this is an ogoing problem with 2003 Vues.

UHE2850 metabo first look if its the powercable have no phase fracture second is there depending 2 years warranty time on left ?

The switch or only dirt between brush and brushholder inside or an electronic assembly defect or the switch electric field armature . only a slide contact loose sometimes its not hard to find by metabo machines.

I am about to pull out the armature and there is a shield under the cooling fan (which is conected to the armature) that should slide out with the armature. It is real tight and I do not want to pry to...

Yes it should pull out with the armature. The plate can only be removed after you remove the nut and gear on the end of the armature. Make sure your brushes are pulled out first or they can hang up on the bearing at the other end of the armature which may be what is happening in your case.

How do you remove and release the quick grinder pad?

There is a button at the front of the grinder usually black or red, depress it lightly and rotate the wheel (unplug grinder please) wait until you feel it fall into spot, depress tightly and hold then turn wheel and unscrew to replace pad. Reverse to reassemble.Good Luck....

I own a metabo 9-125 quick but can't don't know how to place the blade

On the silver part on top of the grinder is a button , press this button and hold it down. now turn the blade until it stops moving, this locks the blade, keep holding the button down and turn grinder over ,and turn the nut counter clockwise, and remove it , take old blade off ,put on new one .it should go over the shaft and at the bottom on a "fit" Make sure it is on the "fit". replace the nut and tighten. If you dont get the nut tight enough it will loosen while in use and the disc you are cutting/grinding with will wobble and may even come off causing possible injury .

I had been using this grinder for about 2 weeks with no problems. A few days ago while using it it just popped and hasn't worked since.

These are great grinders. I have two of them. One version (more expensive one) has soft start and good overload system. Other version is basic grinder. if it (popped) most likely a short in the motor. Is it possible you got an unusual amount of grinding dust into the grinder? This grinder has a safety feature on the brushes, that keeps from burning up the armature when the brushes wear out. I doubt you've worn out a set of brushes in 2 weeks, unless you've been using it non stop. At least one of the brushes has a small plastic insulating pin inside the carbon. When the brush wears down enough to expose the plastic pin, the spring loaded pops out, lifting the brush from the armature , which opens the circuit. You could remove the brush holders and inspect the brushes. If it is 2 weeks old it is under warranty, and you should return it where you bought it.

Metabo SBE750 hammer drill trigger sensitivity

The only possible sollution for this failure in this particular tool is to replace the switch. There are no additional electronics that could cause this.
