The ceramic liner for my crock pot has hard-to-see dark "crack" lines after only a few uses. seems to be "behind" the glaze but hard to tell. is it safe to use or is there the risk of bacteria, etc.?

If you want to check to see if the cracks are in the glazed area, try beet juice swirled around in the liner. Rinse the liner out with some water. If you see the juice in the cracks after rinsing, it's probably time to look for a replacement liner. Bacteria will find a way out of these cracks and into your food while cooking.

SOURCE: Cracked ceramic Kitchenaid crock pot liner

There is no inherent problem with the Kitchenaid ceramic inserts. As far as a replacement ceramic insert, I would suggest calling Kitchenaid Customer Service. They may be able to provide a new insert at no cost if the unit is still within the 1 Year warranty.

Their toll-free phone number is 1-800-541-6390.

SOURCE: Oval 6 Qt Ceramic Liner Needed for Rival Crock Pot model 3855

If you are still looking I may have what you need. I live in Canada so you would need to pay the shipping which could be high as the liner is heavy. If you are interested feel free to email me.

I can't say for certain this ceramic replacement crock will fit exactly, so check with the dealer to make certain. I have the SCVP601R-L red crock pot. My ceramic pot is starting to look like it is cracking on the bottom. It is not leaking, I am just worried. I would like to get a relacement liner and it doesn't...

Check with your local hardware store, maybe they have some sort of scellent or glue for ceramic, just make sure it can stand high temperatures, if the crack is in the inside of the pot make also sure the product won't contaminate the food with nasty chemicals. Sorry that is the only thing I can think of besides buying a new crock...

good luck!

Need replacement ceramic liner for Rival 6 quart crock pot

Believe it or not in this day and age, although seemingly wasteful, it is much cheaper to simply purchase an entirely new unit instead of the cost of a replacement liner and the S/H.
