Noisy Braun 7680

I have the same problem as johnhhebeler - a noisy 7680 although the cutter block and foil seem secure.
The sahving performance is not brilliant even though the blades and foil are relatively nwe (less than a year).
Was there a solution posted to Juhn's problem?
Cheers
Rod

I followed the instructions from Nick123456 for taking the shaver apart, cleaned all areas and oiled everywhere I could see moving parts around the motor. Then I put it back together making sure that the side screws were very tight. It is now much quieter and the shave seems OK but not brilliant. (Sorry about the typos in the original posting).

Where to get and how to replace the shaver switch on 7680?

The switch is part of the outer case and can be found at shaveroutlet.com. See link below

http://shaveroutlet.com/shaver-replacement-parts/braun-syncro-body-housing-select-models-p-811.html

To replace, you will need to gently pry off the cap that surrounds the cord hle on the bottom. Once removed, the side grips will pull away easily revealing 4 screws on the back. Remove screws to take the bask of case off and then lift out the 'guts'. Reassemble in reverse order

Shaver started making a much louder buzzing sound, no longer shaves as well and now hurts a bit to use. Can this be fixed?

Hello Robert, It sounds like the foil screen might have been damaged and is causing poor shaving performance. Typically, a screen will get small holes or tears in it after providing good service for some years, however, these very thin screen foils, can get damaged other ways too.

The best way to restore the best shaving performance is to replace both the foil screen AND the cutter head block (cutter head) as it could be possible that the cutter blades have become damaged or nicked and have caused the foil screen to become damaged, as a result.

I would contact www.electricshaver.com and see if you can purchase a new set of the cutter block head and the screen foil for your particular Braun shaver model. As the Braun 360 is a tradename used on a couple of different model numbers, you really need the four (4) digit model number in order to locate the correct replacement parts.

Here's a link to their page with the various Braun replacement cutter blocks and foil screens. You might find your model number amoung them, otherwise, you can also give them a call at 1-888-476-1785 and ask them to assist you with selecting the proper replacement parts.

http://www.electricshaverstore.com/get_list_125.htm

As you are no doubt aware, replacing the cutter head and foil screen is the best and simplest way to restore an electric shaver to a like new shaving condition and much less expensive than replacing the entire shaver.

I hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!

My shaver is approximately 3years old and it "bites" me. What do you think it needs? and where can I get help in the Central Coast of California.Thank you.

HI. Have you ever changed the foil or cutter? You'll find a world of difference when you change them. It's recommend you change them every 18 months (as specified on the packet).

Your model is the Syncro which takes a 30B/Series 3 - 7000/4000 Series foil/cutter. You should be able to locate by doing a Google search.

Braun Synchro 7680 - "Oil" message

Had the same problem on my shaver too. Bought this product:
http://www.onlineshavers.com/pd_braun_8000_activator_foil_cutter_pack31.cfm

(I know the link says foil cutter, but it takes you to Braun lubricating oil!)

I apply the lubricating oil to the foil etc, then the word "oil" disappears. Then after a while the word "oil" comes back and I apply the oil again and so on, my shaver still performs normally.

Hope this helps.
