Just to be sure that I'm setting the machine correctly, I've done the following. 1 I set the tub at low level for H20. 2 Add soap, bleach 3 Load machine with clothes 4 Select wash cycle 5 set H20 level again to match amount of laundry. 6 Press start. The only problem is that I have is that I can't get any H20 to fill the tub: however, the above steps is the way I figured is the way the manufacturer suggests to do it.
Check to be sure water is cut on and there is actually water coming from hoses. Make sure hot and cold hoses aren’t switch at Machine. Make sure valve and hose screens are free from debris.
Testimonial: "The H20 IS turned on:however, NOTHING comes out. Tub is DRY. My machine has only 1 hose. Valves, hose screens are fine. Thanks for advice."
SOURCE: Liquid Bleach dispenser doesn't work correctly
This may not be relevant, but by design, bleach does NOT dispense in the Buly/Bedding, Kids Wear, and Silk/Ultra Delicate cycles. If you try to use it, it remains in the dispenser.
As for the yucky smell, leave the door open when not in use.

Since your washer worked fine while in Germany and now is exhibiting this problem at your new home, you may want to double check how it was installed. I suspect you may have a problem known as "siphoning". The following link explains:
http://www.fixya.com/support/r587481-prevent_washer_siphoning
This could be a simple situation where the drain line on the washer is not installed correctly. There are minimum height and length requirments on the drain line. In addition, make sure the stand pipe you have the drain hose inserted in has a proper air gap to allow draining. All of this is explained in the link provided.
I hope this information is helpful to you. The majority of the situations arise from improper installation and is not an operaitonal problem with the washer. If, however, you double check everything and still have problems, please post back and let me know.
SOURCE: Soap powder remains in the soap compartment
Depending on which compartment the powder is remaining in, it could be low water pressure causing the problem.
If it is taking some down, but not all the powder, then try putting the powder towards the front of the compartment.
If all else fails then I suggest you get one of these dispenser balls that you put straight in the drum with the washing.
Plz rate this solution.
thanks.

you have a faulty brake motor. It pulls in and releases the brake. When pulled right it it contacts a switch which lets the other actions like washing and spinning to occur. $77 to $86 off ebay or appliance stores. turn off ac. remove back off machine. reach around left side of frame at the bottom of the tub and push the brake forward manually and let the little plastic retainer turn sideways and release the wire rope retainer that comes out of the brake motor. remove the power cable to the brake motor by pulling out the connector on the right side under the tub. remove the two 8mm screws retaining the brake motor and remove the brake motor. reverse procedure with new item.
enjoy uninterrupted washes!
