I have a St Regis Hampton bay ceiling fan model #138 498. It has a built in transmitter on the fan . I need the remote that originally goes with that fan. Thank you

In case someone else stumbles upon this:
I replaced the remote receiver on one of these fans. jb is right just the top housing that touches the ceiling needs to be removed. Twist it counter clockwise and pull down. You'll see all the wires and the remote receiver. It might not seem like much room to work with, but you can remove the wires and slide the receiver out sideways to replace it or if you can't see the dip switches. Too bad Home Depot is too cheap to even provide instructions when they send you the replacement remove receiver.

You can buy another one, switch the bottom glass with the broken pieces, and return for refund.

Sounds like the remote control receiver has gone, replace the receiver. Purchase them seperatley very common for these to play up, even new ones made in China especially arlec brand !

Easy to get a new one though, find them at home depot or hardware and lighting stores. the receivers simply go at the top of the fan where they meet the ceiling. Easy to wire up too. But should be done by an electrician, athough it's not rocket science.
