The digital display panel on my slow cooker is malfunctioning making it impossible to read hours of cooking time. Can this be repaired? The rest of it is in pristine condition.

I have one of these cookers with the lid shattered. Maybe between us we could come up with one good cooker. I could buy your lid or you could buy my lidless cooker in new condition.

SOURCE: To add water or not to add water????

Slow cookers do not need water in the base unit to cook the food in the ceramic insert. The ceramic insert gets hot from the base and cooks the food. Here is a good guide to cooking with a slow cooker. enjoy

SOURCE: have a presidents choice slow cooker and its not

Check with the manufacturer. Presiden't choice may have a manual listed on facebook.com or it may be archived. If archived, ask the Tech people to either snail mail or email a copy of the manual.

SOURCE: Can't change temperature-stays on "warm"

Push the COOK TIME button, if the time changes then if you leave the number of hours between 1 and 6, and press the ON/OFF button, it will cook on high that many hours. If you leave the number between 7 and 10, and press the ON/OFF button, it will cook on low that many hours. If you leave the number at "0" then the slow cooker will cook on WARM. If the COOK TIME button does not work, unplug the slow cooker, hold both the ON/OFF button and the COOK TIME buttons down and plug it into a wall socket. After the lights flash a few times, release the buttons. the switches should work.

My Hamilton Beach slow cooker stopped going to keep warm after time was up, model 33966C

If your Hamilton Beach slow cooker model 33966C is no longer switching to the "keep warm" setting after the cook time is up, there could be a few possible causes:
  1. The thermostat may be malfunctioning. The thermostat controls the temperature of the slow cooker and if it's not working correctly, it could prevent the slow cooker from switching to the "keep warm" setting.
  2. The timer may be malfunctioning. The timer controls the cook time and if it's not working correctly, it could prevent the slow cooker from switching to the "keep warm" setting after the cook time is up.
  3. The heating element may be malfunctioning. If the heating element is not working properly, the slow cooker may not be able to maintain the correct temperature to switch to the "keep warm" setting.
  4. The lid may not be properly sealed. If the lid is not properly sealed, heat may be escaping and the slow cooker may not be able to maintain the correct temperature to switch to the "keep warm" setting.
It is recommended to try to unplug the slow cooker for a few minutes and then plug it back in to see if that solves the problem. If the problem persists, it may be best to contact Hamilton Beach customer service for further assistance or to have the slow cooker repaired or replaced.

How do you work the pc crock pot

How to operate: Plug in. Set timer to amount of hours to cook. Press the SELECT button to scroll thru 4 settings - "warm", "1" (Low), "2" (Medium)", "3" (High). Once the desired cooking temp selected, press the "round circle" power button to begin cooking. The time display will now start to count down to "0:00" When the cooking time has been reached, the slow cooker will automatically go into "warm" mode for a maximum of 6 hours, then automatically turn off. Della 12 Quart 1600-Watt Electric Pressure Cooker Multi-Functional Timer Slow Cook XL Part number: 048-GM-48261 Unable to get this cooker to slow cook.

it is possible that you have misunderstood the instructions
for a slow cooker you have low medium and high
press slow cook and on low and in 8 hours the food is cooked
I see from your statements that you expect the cooker to be set on slow cook but cook at a high temperature fast
if it says slow cook --9 hours and the temp is 125 degrees , have you waited 9 hours to see if it is cooked as the slow cooking process is by the gradual build up of heat in the container that is not expelled by radiation to the air
in a pressure cooker , that build up of heat also builds up pressure and so it cooks better
other solution--- if it is not right return it for a warranty refund or if out of warranty , junk it and get a different make

Tried to make lamb shanks with a cook time of 6 hours on high and 6 hours on low. All the liquid evapored and everything burned. Pot lid was bouncing up by steam during cooking. What's wrong

It seem you may have cooked it too long... also one MUST keep an eye on the liquid level at least a few times during the cook. If you need this long a period it is suggested that you not use HIGH for all that time, try High for like 3 hours and the rest at simmer.

How do I start the cooker on low?

The manual says "When your corningware slow cooker is initially plugged into a wall outlet, the display will show"0". This display indicates the programmed number of hours for which a meal will cook.

The slow cooker can be programmed in one hour increments from 1 to 10 on your digital display. The number of hours may be selected by pushing the COOK TIME button until the desired cooking time appears.

If 1,2,3,4,5 or 6 hours are selected, then the slow cooker will operate on HIGH setting. If 7,8,9 or 10 hours are selected, then the slow cooker will operate on the low setting.

To start the cooking cycle press the ON/OFF button. To interrupt the cooking cycle at anytime, press the ON/OFF button. If the ON/OFF button is pressed when the digital display shows "0", then the slow cooker will automatically start on the WARM setting.

When the full cooking cycle is complete, your corningware slow cooker will automatically switch to the warm setting, to keep food at a warm serving temperature."

If, after you plug the slow cooker into the outlet, the COOK TIME button does not work, unplug the cooker, hold both ON/OFF and COOK TIME buttons down, plug into wall socket and wait till the display flashes. Release both buttons and the slow cooker buttons should both work.
