You could check it by having the unit switched on a touching each of the pins of the device with an insulated tool. Making certain you don't short any of the pins together. You should hear a buzz on each channel. If you get nothing on the right then it could well have gone.
However that is a lot of messing about, as the device can be purchased for around £12, it could be easier just to replace it and see if that cures it. After all it is the device that does most of the work, so the chances are it's gone!

SOURCE: Blown Channel on an amplifier

Look for low valued resistors that may look ok, but be open. Check the emitter resistors (.22 or .47 ohms). Check the transistors in the driver circuit as well.

SOURCE: The right channel on my NAD intergrated amplifier C320Bee no longer works.

if you did test for your cable and speaker and you find it fine-your problem will be in output stage of your amp and needs aid of service center.

On my klh subwoofer the high speaker output stop working the sub works just fine but when I hook up the other speakers to it they don't play at all. I know if I go and buy a receiver I can bypass it.

The speakers connections have to come from an amplifier with sound coming from it in the first place. Once connected to the unit the bass signal is then extracted from the signal and the rest of the signal sent to the main speakers. The KLH will not power the main speakers on it's own. The unit will only take the two main stereo channels, from an amplifier, the left and right then go to one set of inputs and they then come out of the other two outputs.

Amp light not working and one dead right channel

Without knowing how it's actually laid out, I'd surmise the output amplifier transistors in the right channel are shorted, the fuse for that channel may be blown, and the speaker protection circuit is keeping it turned off. Most amplifier speaker protectors disable both channels if there is a problem, but yours could be different. I surmise the lights you mention are directly connected to the speaker protector chips and indicate readiness for normal operation. If it takes a few seconds for them to come on after power-up, that lends credence to my hypothesis.
Unplug the amplifier, open it up, and measure the resistance from the right channel output to each of the output power supplies (or to the fuse for the output power supply for that channel, if present). If one or both is very low (i. e, close to zero), you have a fried transistor. If that is the case, it is probably a good idea to replace the complementary transistor connecting the speaker to the other power supply even if it tests good; it may have been overloaded when the first one shorted. In many amplifiers, the transistors are inside a hybrid amplifier module, so you would have to replace the entire module. In some amps, you have multiple transistors in parallel; here you can probably keep the transistors that were in parallel with the failed unit, but I'd still recommend changing the complementary transistors.

What would be the probable cause of my konzert amplifier av-502 after replacing 2 power transistors npn & pnp in the left channel, the sound is distorted. i'ved checked the voltage across the spea

Check the bias resistors. They can burn out when power amp transistors fail. They will be very near to those two replacements. You can compare any parts using the right channel as a good. Readings and voltage measurements should be the same for both channels. Also the look of the parts. If a resistor is off-colour in the left, but not in the right you know something is up.

One side dead

hi zm_16dec,

Right chanel fully dead , output transistor burnedout ,

Without knowing the make and model of your amplifier

all i can advise is to replace the unknown part number of

the transistor.

Look for the working left channel output transistors and

replace the bad transistors in "pair". These may include

other components but check on it as well.

Check the speaker system, especially where that channel

is connected.Inspect speaker wires or cable up to the speaker

itself.

Amplifier wont blow without reason. It could be from the wirings,

speaker or volume settings of the unit.

Add su bwoofer to KLH 200

the subwoofer i have, a polk, connects directly to the right and left speaker lines of the klh2400.
i then connect my stereo left and stereo right speakers to the subwoofer.
essentially, the subwoofer becomes a middle station between my speakers.
