I have only had my Dyson V6 for about 2.5 years. It now doesn’t charge. Can there be a reason for this as it only gets used about once a fortnight? Thanks.

Battery packs on Dyson V6 models are usually good for about 3-4 years. If yours is not holding a charge, I would first suggest replacing the battery pack. Also, I do not see any reason as to why not using it often would affect the battery life since these models are made to be able to stay on the charger for long periods of time without damaging the battery itself. If replacing the battery doesn't help, I suggest consulting with a technician. I hope this helps.

I have a Dyson vacuum cleaner cordless and is not charging the red light is blinking but there's no green light we have had it for about a year and a use it every day usually twice a day

An issue with the battery may lead to the charger not detecting, nor attempting to charge the battery. I've solved this in the past by leaving things on charge for an extended period of time (sometimes days at a time, but with frequent checks that it's not getting too hot), but your mileage may vary.

Worst case scenario, you may need a new battery or a new charger. You can buy cheap replacement chargers from China for under 10 dollars, but a battery may set you back more. I suggest buying a genuine Dyson battery if you can; a charger isn't as important to remain genuine.

Definitely look into whether you're still covered by warranty, as I know Dyson offer some pretty hefty after sales support these days (some 5+ years). If you are, give them a call and see if they can help.

Does not pickup any more. I purchased for my son. Christmas of 2014 (1-1/2 years ago)

I am sure that this is a result of a clog. You may have to dismantle a bit to get to it. I have done this several times with other vacuums.

I've had my Dyson dc23 for about two years and

The brushes wear down over time as you have noticed. they are easily ordered online. Google "Dyson dc23 replacemanet parts" there are a lot of retailers for parts. Find one that is local to you, you can either pick one up from a local retailer or order one and have it delivered. I found one for $24 here is the link for you;
Dyson dc23. Don't know what the delivery charge would be for you as I don't know where you are. Ebay and Amazon should carry them also if you have premium account with either you may get them delivered for free. Good luck

Hi Elizabeth, it's Jack at Dyson.

I'm glad to hear you've been in touch already and we're able to resolve the issue under your machine's 5-year guarantee.

In most cases, the issue you've described will be caused by something jamming the brush bar. It can usually be resolved by clearing the brush bar of any debris, threads or hair, and checking the Motorhead for any obstructions, as shown in the video below.

If you'd like further help and advice with your machine at any point, please get in touch with us.

Best wishes,

I have a 5 year old Dyson DC07 animal vacuum cleaner. I'm having problems with the vacuum strength when cleaning the carpet but not when using an acessory to clean the stairway carpet. Any possible

Hi Ronald,

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC07. If your machine picks up well through the hose, but not through the cleaner head, it's likely that you have a blockage in the cleaner head.

The easiest way to locate and remove any obstructions is to follow the steps shown in our online support guide:

http://www.dyson.com/support/help.asp?article=4&product=DC07-ANIMAL_US

It's also a good idea to give the filter a wash - in normal use, this should be done at least once every 3-6 months, as shown in the video below. Use cold water without detergent, and allow at least 12 hours for it to dry completely before replacing it.

This should resolve your issue, but if you have any further questions, please get in touch with us directly on 0800 298 0298 (UK), or 1866MYDYSON (US).

Kind regards,

Jack

Hi there,

Sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC28. If it doesn't seem to be picking up as well as usual, it's possible that there's a blockage in the system, and you may need to give the filters a wash. The easiest way to check for and remove any blockages is to follow the steps shown in our online support guide:

http://www.dyson.com/support/help.asp?article=1231&product=DC28-ANIMAL

The correct way to wash the filters is shown in the video below. Under normal use, this should be done at least once every 3-6 months. Use cold water without any detergents, and ensure the filters are totally dry before replacing them - this may take up to 24 hours.

http://www.dyson.com/support/help.asp?article=1456&product=DC28-ANIMAL

Hopefully, by clearing any obstructions and washing the filters, you should be able to resolve your issue without further assistance. However, if you've tried this and are still concerned, it's probably best if you get in touch with us directly. One of our experts will be happy to run through some troubleshooting over the phone with you recommend the best course of action. You can call us free on 1866MYDYSON - or if you email your details to [email protected], someone will be in contact as soon as possible.
