I had a similar problem and found that the holes above the softner section were blocked by black mold. All I had to do was push a small wire into the holes to clear the blockage

SOURCE: Hi, good evening. I have a zanussi iz12 washing

Hi there

I have an IZ12 jetsystem which sometimes works and other times it starts and then clicks and stops just before the water starts to run in. I usually turn it off and try it again a few hours later and then it starts to work again. Sometimes it is the next day before it will work again. Would anyone know the problem?

SOURCE: machine just started leaving dirty

Check that the pump is clean and not loose. Make sure pump, impeller, and waste pipe are in alignment with each other and are clean. If it works when you shake the pipe, then there is still a clog inside or the pipes aren't aligned correctly and something is hanging up.

Well here i am,back again.Same problem kind of.yesterday we took off and descaled all pipes/filter etc.It seemed to solve the problem as the first wash worked perfectly, then on the next wash.......F18

Have you tried a boil wash ?
Also check that the drain pipe has no kinks or sharp bends in it.
I know we managed to get the drain pipe cleared :-)
But the next step may be to check that the waste pipe you are connecting to is not also scaled up.
If you can take the drain pip off again, check and see if the pipework you are connecting to is also clear.
Other than that, this may actually be a failing drain pump.

Check the rest of your pipes are clear in the house (where the machine is plumbed into).
Then do a boil wash - hottest wash you can, NO SOAP and empty drum.
Hopefully that will let the machine clear everything else out.

DESPERATE..... Displays fault code F18 frequently.Have cleaned the filter 3 times now recently(in the last 3 days) and is very clean but stopped again.Just emptied ll washing out of it and spun it to

I would check that the drain pipe is also clear.
You can actually get a build up of old soap powder in the pipework.
This pipe would be on the rear of the machine (grey in colour) and would connect to your waste pipe (perhaps under a sink)
If you can pull the machine forward and check to see if this pipe is indeed blocked, or even restricted.

I found this answer that may help you.

Wasing machine fills with water during washing and wont pump out filling the drum...

1. Empty the drum via the filter / trap at the front (there is sometimes a drain pipe near the filter - otherwise be prepared to use lots of towels to soak up the water).
2. Check / clean the filter.
3. Ensure that the drainage pipe is not blocked.
4. Check that the pipe from the pump to the waste water pipe is not kinked / blocked.
5. Check that the pipe from the drum to the pump is not blocked.
6. Does the pump sound like it's trying to work? If not, it could be that the pump is dead. Pumps can often become blocked with fluff / slime from the machine.

Good luck!

My Bosch Exxcel 1100 will not drain, after manualy emptying it i have opened the front filter cap checked the filter and i can see the impellar spinning but when it is full of water it will not drain

Could be the impellor is slipping under load, or there is a blockage between the pump outlet and the point it drains into the waste pipe.
Try blowing down drain hose to see if it is blocked.

Code flashing is E:18

F18 means Clean the detergent/solution pump or,check that the outlet pipe/drainage hose is not blocked.

Do the following.

  1. Switch off the machine, unplug or disconnect the mains power to the machine and turn off the water supply to the machine.
  2. Remove the filter and make sure that the filter is not blocked and is clean and clear of all debris. Clean as required. Note that if the machine has stopped and not fully drained then you may be able to drain out the excess water by removing or disconnecting the waste hose and laying it on the ground in a tray. It may take a few minutes to empty but it will save a small flood.
  3. Proceed by checking the drain hose for proper connection and kinks and make sure that it is not blocked or restricted.
  4. Also check that the main waste drain pipe and one way valve to a sink waste connection if you use one, is not blocked and clean if required.
  5. Access the pump from under the lower rotor arm and protective grille and check that the impeller is free to move and is not clogged or restricted by debris or sludge. Clean as required.
  6. Reconnect the power and switch the machine on.
If the problem persists then do the following.
7. Switch off the machine and disconnect the mains power. It is a good idea to take digital pictures of the pump assembly before attempting to work on it or remove it so that you can refer back to it when you reassemble the unit or replace it with a new unit at a later date / time.
8. Remove and check the electrical connections to the pump and make sure they are in good order.
9. Remove the connecting hoses, and expect water to drain out and make sure the pipes are not blocked with debris or any object blockage. If they are then clean them thoroughly.
10. Then remove the pump and check motor is OK and that the motor turns OK. Also check that the pump impeller vanes are in good order and not blocked. If necessary replace the pump with a new and identical unit.
11. Carefully reassemble the pump observing the correct placement of gaskets, seals, O Rings, hoses and securing straps, electrical wiring.
12. Reconnect the hoses and then reconnect power and switch the machine on.

Bosch WFF 2001 has finished a wash cycle but the water will not drain or spin away, cannot open the door. There is no apparent filter trap to empty, help!

Do the following.

  1. Switch off the machine, unplug or disconnect the mains power to the machine and turn off the water supply to the machine.
  2. Remove the access panel on the lower right front of the machine.
3. Remove the filter and make sure that the filter is not blocked and is clean and clear of all debris. Clean as required. Note that depending on the machine type you may get a lot of water coming out of the filter when you remove it if the machine has not drained successfully. Note that if the machine has stopped and not fully drained then you may be able to drain out the excess water by removing or disconnecting the waste hose and laying it on the ground in a tray. It may take a few minutes to empty but it will save a small flood.
4. Proceed by checking the drain hose for proper connection and kinks and make sure that it is not blocked.
5. Also check that the main waste drain pipe, if you use one, is not blocked and clean if required.
6. Reconnect the power and switch the machine on.
If the problem persists then do the following.
7. Switch off the machine and disconnect the mains power.
8. Check the electrical connections at the pump and make sure it is operational.
9. Remove the connecting hoses, and expect water to drain out and make sure the pipes are not blocked with debris or any object blockage.
10. Makes sure the pump appears clear and that the impeller looks in good condition.
11. Reconnect the hoses and then reconnect power and switch the machine on.
12. If problem has not been corrected, then remove the pump and check that the drive coupling to the motor is OK and that the motor turns OK. If all is well then replace the pump.
