It is a TV, is it too hard to say TV and post to TVs and not computers.

no not software, it is firmware, you TV has no HDD.
my wild guess is you want new APPS "smart apps"
if yes tell what app you want
better ask Toshiba that, only they can upgrade TV's
all you can do got to settings and click upgrade my firmware
if you told us and APP that fails. only Toshiba can fix that.

its not a computer, its a TV with fixed APPS.
If you said my old Toshiba, netfix app is dead (as they all are)
then we have 1 fix only.
Old TVs smart have old APPS, that are not dead, obsolete or random failing or acting half deed.
all mine do, even on 2 new (panasonic/sony blu-ray)
and my LG TV
all 3 makers flat refused to upgrade my netfix and hulu apps
and that is forever issue, dead forever.
the cure is ROKU 3 and ROKE ultar 4k
ROKU ugrades when the sourced (say neflix) tells them to.
The apps had a major change 5 months ago, at 3 of my streaming sources rendering all 4 smart appliances here dead.
ROKU saved the day. (im older than dirt and this is not spam)
moving to TV where you belong now.
Google toshiba homepage with make, model and serial. If it is in stock they will sell you a new set for around $50 , tell them what o/s you are runniing
