Interesting. Have you tried plugging your machine at home into a different outlet than the one you normally use? It could be that the issue isn't your machine, but the outlet you have it plugged into.
If it still acts up, maybe try at a friends house, see if the machine does the same there. I was told by my handyman that home electricity can be "dirty" -- as in, 110 volts can fluctuate at the outlet. You might not be getting a full 110 volts (or too much) and that can affect small appliances. So even if your outlet is OK, maybe your home electricity is fickle and affecting your machine.
