SOURCE: Set will not power on.. Blinks red LED 8 times

It's a power supply related problem.
The flashing 8 times is a trouble code. A Service Manual for your TV model will have the info on the codes. It could be a bad capacitor or a transformer on the power supply board. If you have some electronic experience, you can find a Service Manual for your TV over the internet. Cost about under $20.

You need to Sync it first.Open the SD Card slot cover on the front of the Wii console, just below the disc drive, then push the red button there, then open the batteries cover on your Wii Fit and push the red button there.

My Emerson tv won't turn on. When I try to turn it on, the red button blinks three times and then nothing. After a couple of second the button remains red.

The dreaded Funai power supply board failure, you can order a new board if you can find one but chances are it won't last but a few months to a yr and fail again, any TV made by Funai in China isn't very good quality, they sell them cheap because they're made cheap and don't last but a couple yrs tops

Magnavox 32me303vf7 HDTV blinks red 20 times on blink #17 magnavox appears on screen then TV shuts off and blink red light goes to solid red till power button is depressed. Thanks Heath

This set has nothing to do with "Philips" the old parent company of Magnavox, about 5 yrs ago they were bought out by "Funai" in China...Emerson, Magnavox, RCA, Sylvania, Sanyo to name a few are all owned now by Funai so any information from Philips won't help on this set...If your comfortable working around high DC voltage you can test the voltage on pin 20 of CN501, it should be around 21 VDC, if you see that there then go to pin 8 of CN501 and look for 3 volts after you push the on button, if its there replace the power board, if its not there replace the main board. This is a common issue with any 32" TV made by Fanui, Ive worked on I would say close to 200 of these over the last few yrs, for a lack of a better way of putting it...they aren't a very good TV, quite low end components and a major lack of engineering went into making it, but this is why they sell for $150 or less at Walmart

Stays in standbye and will only flash green (power on) twice before staying in standbye

The 6 inverter transformers on the bottom of the picture is the problem and what need to be tested.
Unplug the 6 wires that goes to the LCD screen. Use a multimeter to test for resistance from each output plug on the board. The one without the resistance is the bad one.
If this doesn't locate the bad one this way, Each plug should give out DC voltage if working properly. Test each plug for voltage.
The TV will automatically turn off in a couple of seconds like before. You'll have to keep pushing the power button to test each output plug for voltage.

Soon as you find the bad Inverter Transformer, just solder in a new one and the TV should work fine after that.
The part # for the Inverter Transformer is LTZ2PC0MS008.
Here's two places to get them:
