Emerson Clock Radio Model CKS 1855

The radio began making a screeching noise on all stations. AM & FM. I unplugged the unit thinking it was damaged. The screeching got worse. I disconnected the battery and the screeching stopped.
I located a new battery. I set the date & time. I can not turn off alarm 2.
Does anyone know how to deactivate the alarm?
Thank you!

SOURCE: emerson clock radio cks 3516 military time

You will need to try some combination of the set button and time button to change the time back to normal time. Try hold both the time and set button for a period of 5-10 seconds and see if this will cycle the time to normal. If not try hold the set button alone for 5-10 seconds and see if this works. If not try holding the time time button for 5-10 seconds and see if that works. If none of the fixes work. Call Emerson customer support at this telephone number 1-800-898-9020 between the hours of 9am-5pm CT. Tell them the make and model number of your Clock/Radio and ask them for assistance with your problem of resetting the time back to normal from military time. They will be able to help you. I hope this information helps you solve your problem.

Emerson Model No. CKS 3020

Sorry it took so long to reply to your problem. You must try to reset the Clock/Radio's microprocessor. To do this you must disconnect the Clock/Radio from the A/C power source and remove the internal battery. Let the Clock/Radio set without any power source for about 3 hours. This should completely drain all the power from the microprocessor. After this is done, reinsert the internal battery and plug the Clock/Radio into the A/C power source. The Clock/Radio's functions should return to normal. If they do not return to normal. Unplug the Clock/Radio from the A/C power source and remove the internal battery. Replace the internal Battery (CR2430). Let the Clock/Radio again drain all the power from the microprocessor. Insert the new battery and Plug the Clock/Radio into the A/C power source. Emerson iPod Clock Radio Docking Station #IC200BK radio

I was having a similar problem with my ic200bk stereo dock. After unplugging the machine, replugging it, and allowing the auto set to occur, a timer is activated while nothing else works. I spoke with an Emerson employee about the problem, but he wasn't very helpful. He simply indicated the unit needs to be repaired (which, conveniently, they don't do) or replaced (by only if your 90-day warranty is still in effect...also convenient for me). Bottomline: your unit is **** is Emerson can't (or won't) do a thing about it.

I'm done with Emerson forever.
