It is possible that you have a small piece of paper stuck somewhere down deep in unit, where it's difficult to see. Check all over, in rollers, in gears, anywhere paper will travel. Also check the gears, possibly they broke or shifted. Good Luck Friend.

SOURCE: PAPER JAM THAT REALLY DOESN'T EXIST

make sure the back cover (black panel) is fully closed. If it is, remove the panel and shake gently to make sure nothing has fallen inside.

SOURCE: HP Officejet 5610 All-in-One continuous paper jam,

This error message is displayed by the printer when paper is jammed in one or more locations. In such a case, users are recommended to remove the jammed paper from the specified location. The entire paper path must be checked for any pieces of paper. To stop the message, open and close the top most cover of the printer. Lastly, verify the flags and the sensors. If the problem persists, the cause of the error message could be a broken sensor or sensor lever.

My printer insists that it has a paper jam even through there is no jammed paper inside it. what is wrong?

The sensor that detects a paper-jam is FALSELY reporting the paper-jam condition.
Check that the sensor itself is not jammed.

My 5610 all in one series keeps telling me that there is a paper jam. I have checked and there is no paper jammed in the printer. It won't reset. It keeps saying paper jam. Help!

Check to make sure both ink cartridges are installed properly. I don't know why it says "paper jam" when the cartridges aren't properly installed, but it does.
