Hello Check whether the inserted CD spins inside your unit or not. If it spins, and the set does not recogonize the disc, the laser pickup assembly has the trouble and should be replaced with same type and number. If it does not spins, the sled motor, the motor that spins the disc, is faulty and should be replaced. OK.
Hello The main system control IC and its memory IC should be checked. This is a skilled work, and you must have thorugh knoledge in electronics, and all tools to proceed. OK.
If your purchase was recent, I recommend contacting Insignia Product Support at 1-877-467-4289 to supply the missing part. If the problem persists using OEM parts, I would recommend returning the unit for an exchange if you're within the retailer's return period, or carrying it in to pursue service options.
Try power-cycling the unit (turn off and unplug) and ensure that you've reset it to factory defaults. Also ensure that the unit is dry by allowing it to rest powered on for 60 minutes. Additional steps include ensuring that the CD door is securely closed. More tips can be found in the owner's manual. If none of these steps resolve the problem, you may carry the unit in to the place of purchase for service options.
If you've also power-cycled the unit (turn it off and unplug it for several minutes) and the problem still persists, repairs will likely be required. Service can be obtained by carrying the unit in to the place of purchase.
I have the same problem. I got it to reset by removing the internal battery and letting it sit for a day. Unfortunately, when I push the remote buttons too fast it locks up again. It is a pain to remove the cover and pull the battery. I don't understand why the unit takes so long to respond to the remote but in the case of my unit you have to be sure you don't push them too fast or it will lock up. I just sent a email to the company via the link provided here. I am not expecting them to respond but we will see.
